Scary, I assume once the charged calls are credited back any future calls will still be included in Orange Xnet mins?
There's a post by someone on the DVD forums stating that these calls are charged at 50p per minute from the 8th April.
Probably a hoax, seeing as it's the guy's first post...0 -
I've been using the Simplyfone number on Orange for over a month and have not been charged for the calls, they've just used up my free mins.
However I just checked my latest bill and there was a charge for the last call I made using the number (the only one in April). When I rang to query it Orange told me that they now deemed the number to be a calling card and that they would now start charging for it.
So watch your bills carefully on Orange!0 -
wierd!
i also called orange cust.service today & was told there was error & i would receive credit for these calls?
in any case can orange just 'change' their minds and charge for these 07744 calls without informing the client!
Can't believe they can do it without proper warning once they've included them already!0 -
Was just on the phone ith Orange customer services. As of 8th April they will be charging 35p per min for calls ot this number hich they classify as calling card. I dont see howw they can when Ofcom site says this is part of the MNC code which is assigned to mobile networks.
I have been told that I have unbilled calls of £44.34p till thursdayand I gues this will surely double as I have used it a lot on friday/saturday
guess it will double or more than that when their system updates for calls made upto Sunday morning..
Though I did debate that since I have been informed(and she has put that in her system) by orange only on 11th at 1.55pm, all calls amde before that has to be refunded. She has agreed and now I need to call after my next bill is generated.
So i gues now it is stick to T-Mobile(Luckily got 100 mins on that one) I wonder whether Orange allow this number on my OVP Relax 200 Tmobile tariff wwhich promises to match Tmobiles charging conditions. always an optimist
I would request Martin to send (if possible ) to the site users warning them that this is chargeable now onwards.:beer::beer:0 -
Oh I didn't realise that was what you call an affiliate link. I just found it whilst browsing around and have no wish to encourage affiliates - thought it looked strange as to why it was not https://www.justdial.com or something like that.
Anyway, over the weekend (after I read the updates on this thread) I switched the O2 chip in my mobile to Orange (bad timing!) just to see if I could connect to India no and got the same fault problem with routing the call. Just as well really, as would have been billed through the nose by Orange for a good hour or so if I did get through!0 -

I don't think the info has gone to all Orange customer services. I'm told that 07744...series is a Dolphin number and is charged as a mobile; I made him check it twice. Also the billing info not available to him for less than 7 days ago.0

I dont think orange has bothered to inform any subscriber via SMS or otherwise unles and until anyone called and asked specifically. I called them on SUnday about unbilled calls and was told that unbilled calls werent updated after Tuesday(this was on sunday) On monday I was told its been updated only upto 8th (Friday).
Even on Sunday when I called I wasnt informed about the charge to 07744 numbers. yesterday(monday) when I asked for unbilled calls and as told it is £44 and I enquired I was told they consider it as a calling card access number as it is used to make international calls and willbe charging 35p from 8th. Though obviously I wwill be contesting this atleast until t he time I was informed of teh charge (11th April 13.50pm). The kind lady has put it on her note as well so I hope when i call after I get my bill these charges until 11th will be reversed.
Orange cant charge on OVP Relax Tmobile tariffs or O2 tariffs as O2 andTmobile dont charge for 07744 numbers. This is atleast confirmed by email by Simply-Fone to me yesterday.:beer::beer:0 -
I only strated using the SF service via Orange this weekend-typical of my timing!- I too am on the OVP voda 200 tariff.
It seems unreasonable to me that Orange can unilaterally change the status of these calls ESPECIALLY if vodaphone/BT have not done so. It seems a change in T and Cs but as I have no wish to end my contract I don't know if there is any other recourse.
Some posters say the credit will be paid back next month while others say the charges will stick. Should we try to get a definitive answer for all concerned or should each effected person be left to negotiate with orange by themselvesYou know what... you can't beat a good bargain!!!0 -
