I dont think orange has bothered to inform any subscriber via SMS or otherwise unles and until anyone called and asked specifically. I called them on SUnday about unbilled calls and was told that unbilled calls werent updated after Tuesday(this was on sunday) On monday I was told its been updated only upto 8th (Friday).
Even on Sunday when I called I wasnt informed about the charge to 07744 numbers. yesterday(monday) when I asked for unbilled calls and as told it is £44 and I enquired I was told they consider it as a calling card access number as it is used to make international calls and willbe charging 35p from 8th. Though obviously I wwill be contesting this atleast until t he time I was informed of teh charge (11th April 13.50pm). The kind lady has put it on her note as well so I hope when i call after I get my bill these charges until 11th will be reversed.
Orange cant charge on OVP Relax Tmobile tariffs or O2 tariffs as O2 andTmobile dont charge for 07744 numbers. This is atleast confirmed by email by Simply-Fone to me yesterday.

    Me to, please.

I too think they cannot charge at all at this stage. But with proper notice whereby they amend their T&Cs I guess they can for Orange tariffs.

I only strated using the SF service via Orange this weekend-typical of my timing!- I too am on the OVP voda 200 tariff.

It seems unreasonable to me that Orange can unilaterally change the status of these calls ESPECIALLY if vodaphone/BT have not done so. It seems a change in T and Cs but as I have no wish to end my contract I don't know if there is any other recourse.

Some posters say the credit will be paid back next month while others say the charges will stick. Should we try to get a definitive answer for all concerned or should each effected person be left to negotiate with orange by themselves

As such as it is individual contracts each one has to negotiate himself with Orange I would guess. But I thin Orange is very customer friendly and as long as each person talks to them and say that as of the moment they have informed you of the change you can ask them to reverse earlier charges bbut only after you get the bill. Thats what I have been told.
Lets face it we enjoyed the party when it as on. Sorry to know you started only this weekend. My luck is similar to yours normally but this time I used it from the first email that Martin sent.
Totally nearly 900 mins per month!!. my friends were wondering if i had gone mad suddenly calling every other day after 2 yrs calling only every other month. Luckily my dealer gives me 100% cash back so I couldnt care about the rental costs!!

    with both o2 & t-mobile...

    thank heavens!
  • On Orange contract - have been using successfully until today. Now I am told this number (07744) is a premium rate number and I will be charged for this! Note you are talking to Simplyfone about Orange - any reply?

just spoken to Orange cs and asked if i would be charged differently for the 07744..they said that it would charged as a normal mobile number and it should come out of my normal free nimutes...This situation is so confusing right now..anyone spoken to S-F about it?

I spoke to Orange CS who 'confirmed' it was from my inclusive minutes and I got them to put a note to this effect on my account so when I do get charged I should be able to recalim but I suspect this will only work once...

I emailed simply-fone and the response is below:
Do you have any update on whether Orange are changing for your 07749 number
on orange and or OVP tariffs?
Are vodafone and 3 still charging?
Are O2 and t-mobile still including it in x-net minutes?
Is it not possible for you to 'port in' a different network number onto to
the inquam number range so that the networks can't charge as easily?

    Thank you for your feedback.

Simply-fone provides the service which is available from all mobile networks, however the charging policy for these calls is a matter for the network operator, the service provider and the caller.
The network operators have the discretion to set the policy for charging for any calls and these policies vary by network operator, service provider and sometimes by tariff plan.
In addition the network operators vary their charging policies from time to time. It is neither possible nor appropriate for Simply-fone to advise callers on the charging policy of the mobile operators.

    We can confirm that Mobile providers including O2 and T-Mobile accept calls as FREE to 07744 974 363 & 07744 97 3333 & 07744 974 333 as included in cross-network minutes' allowance.
You will not be charged or incur any hidden or other costs.

yes orange CS said they will not charge on the OVP O2 & T-mobile tariff if O2 and T-mobile do not charge. I guess I can also show them that Singlepoint & Vodafone refund the charges(by sending them my vodafone bills) they should refund those amounts.

copied the email from simply-fonr for everybodys reference

i rec similar email - rather promptly too - which was very good of them.

they also gave me another access number 08700 419 567 which [providing yr mbile plan accepts 0870's as inclusive min] could be used to a more limited number of destinations and for free calls...

luckily i can & used it juat now to israel & belgium just now! phew :j

Someone at Orange CS said that the premium rate message means that the provider has changed the tariff for the calls. I disagreed and said I wanted to talk to someone about Orange's policy decision to charge. Didn't happen. Note on my account that I will ask for refund if charged for 2 calls at the weekend before this announce was introduced.

Whatever Orange have done, they haven't briefed their staff on it very well so far.
