The FO won't take on a claim if you have lost at court but I see no reason why they wouldn't take on a claim that hasn't got to court yet.0 -
Hi there, I have just sucessfully reclaimed £3246.13 from the Ulster Bank. I had to go to the small claims online facility, but I think you will agree, it was well worth it. First Trust are proving more tricky, but I hope just posturing. Keep at it, they know they are complete charlatans and they hope you will give up, DO NOT, sue the mothers! TraceyS0

My dad has received a letter from Ulster Bank offering him all of his £1800 worth of charges back. However, they have asked him to sign an attached pro-forma letter basically stating that he accepts he will 'accept the offer in full and final settlement of all claims he has against the bank relating to charges, interest and court fees.' Can anyone advise if he should sign this letter? Cheers!0

Yes take it, just make sure he doesn't get any more charges. Well done0 -
I don't think any of us from NI will have alot of luck as the head judge has suspended all bank charge related small claims until further notice
Hi DJ
How do you know this to be true?
Why is he doing this?
Does this apply only to NEW claims are those pending?
Its just I have a few in progress.......and the Banks concerned have until 28th May to respond or I win by default....hopefully.
Will this affect me?
Kind regards

I know this to be true as I was due in court yesterday, but I received a letter telling me the date had changed until the end of June, I phoned the court to see why, the listing officer sad the judge has suspended all bank charge related cases until some for of announcement is made. I asked will I be in court at the end of June then, she said, you may not if this announcement hasn't been made0 -

I have checked the "What can be claimed" link but i am not savvy enough on banking matters to understand how they relate to what i have been charged
I have the following charges on my account:
Direct debit set up
Interst charged
Referral Charge
Fees for going overdrawn
Fees for going over overdraft
Also there are fees that were charged for having a packaged account but i think that i can't claim for them. If i am wrong please let me know!!
Can someone please let me know which of these i can claim back for?
Would appreciate any help.
i have been looking an answer to these in a couple of threads on here for a month now as i have my statements and my charges totalled up but i can't send off my claim to them without knowing that i am claiming for the right things.
can anyone answer these for me? please??0 -
Hi there
i've just registered with the forum tonight tho i've been following the advice for claiming back charges from bank in northern ireland. theyve stalled me now for 4-8weeks and last week i sent them a letter saying that id like a reply within 2wks as i felt 6wks from date of request was reasonable time for them to come to resolution. now panicking cos i reckon theyll refuse within next week or so. then i have to go the court route.do i have courage?not sure!!!

i wouldn't worry as much as it seems from reading other peoples reports on here that if they do refuse you, then just call them up and ask for a re-evaluation which seems to be working for others.
i would also send off the letter threatening court action just so they have it on record but hopefully the phone call should be enough to get you some sort of resolution.0
