They said that I had no claim as the charges were in line with the account I had with them. Having read a some of the information in this site, I couldn't see anythin specific for Northern Ireland residents other than an article to tell me the limits in Northern Ireland for claims in the small claims court were considerably lower than everywhere else. Can someone please help me with what I should do next. I reckon I'm owed in the region of £5k. Thank you.
Just stick to the letters and times you give them, if they just fob you of take them to court. I think if your over £2000 you will have to take them to court twice or if over £5000 three times. I'm in N Ireland and have got a lot of money back so far but never went to court yet. The Woolwich could be my first one to take to court.Who i'm taking on
RFS Ltd asked for £835.43 paid out £?
Citi Cards paid out £960, Halifax Cards paid out £200 Woolwich paid out £1000, Abbey paid out £3223, Ulster Bank paid out £4675, Sterling Credit paid out £100, Studio Cards paid out £264,Birmingham Midshires paid out £960.0 -

Hi all,a few years ago i claimed back £2,000 no problem just followed the steps .
But my wife has over £8,000 to claim back from ulster bank, as you know the max small claim in N'Ireland is £2,000.we have already sent a letter asking for the first £2000 back but as usual were declined.
Is there no way to claim back all £8,000 in one lump sum, if so please help,we have looked a few companies that will do it for us,but their commission is about 25% and have all sorts of small print that frankly i just don't trust.
thanks for taking time to read this and any help is greatly appreciated.0 -
I'm in Northern Ireland and bank with the Halifax. I recently got charged £69.00 for going over my overdraft. Does anyone know if I can claim this back? I was reading the notes but could only see details about England, Wales and Scotland. Thanks, Ruth.0

If this is a first time charge then phone the bank and ask them if they will refund it, if not then yes you can reclaim in NI.
mrT for those amounts you would be best to hang on now and see if the FO will resume taking on bank charge cases once today's decision is a bit clearer.0
