    Hi there, I have just sucessfully reclaimed £3246.13 from the Ulster Bank. I had to go to the small claims online facility, but I think you will agree, it was well worth it. First Trust are proving more tricky, but I hope just posturing. Keep at it, they know they are complete charlatans and they hope you will give up, DO NOT, sue the mothers! TraceyS

    Okaaayyyy..... no answers to that one.....

    How about this then...?

    If I have to file a small claim in Northern Ireland, can I split the charges into two groups of £2000 each and claim that way? Is that ok with the courts?

    If not, and I'm going the whole hog, what's the difference between using small claims and civil??

    Surely someone out of the thousands who are replying to other threads must have some idea???

    In the meantime, Cheers. :beer:

    You can use the english system if you have an address on the mainland to have your douments served to. and the defendant has an address there aswell.

    if not you'll have to apply through small claims in N.I for the max of 2k + interest and cut your loses, or launch a civil case, which is far more time consuming and you may not win as easy + its much more expensive.

  • Firstly hello all I,m new to the site and have been very impressed with what I have read so far on help received in reclaiming charges. I have started my reclaiming process , sent away and received my statements. Going through the statements I have come across some different charges versusthose already posted, or they may be the same, I dont know. Could someone with more knowledge on these subjects please help me out. Can I claim on the following;
    1. Referral Item Fees
    2. Notified Interest
    3. Notified Fees
    4 Overdraft Facility Fee.
    5. Accepted Direct Debit Fee

    Plus also here in Northern Ireland small claims court maximum claim is £2000, is this true as I may exceed this:o . Any help would be greatly appreciated. Yours in reclaiming Martin.

    hello Brian,

    im in the process of claiming my banck chrges of first trust. im approaching the stage of apllying to courts. In my original request i told them that if the paid back the charges iwouldnt claim the interest. I have just sent them an email advising of what the charges will be with the interest added if i have to go to courts, nearly 1200 extra.

    how did u get on
