Does anyone know if you can email them instead? I want to try my luck with them but I'm afraid I'm not very good on the phone :( I am the account holder.
Get in your own head that you want to cancel sky. Then it's up to them to get you to stay with a good enough offer.

I emailed last week - they emailed me back and asked if they could call me - I said yes. Got the 6 months half price offer on the phone, so instead of cancelleing then starting up again later in year for football I accepted the offer.
  • Can I ask who you emailed and what information you provided? I assume you just need the account number?

I presume you just threatened to cancel via email too?!

    I've been Money Tipped!
just a heads up to those who think that by phoning sky and 'threatening' to cancel will always get them a good deal - it won't...if you phone up with a civil attitude and speak to us as you would like to be spoken to we will be only too happy to help and offer alternatives if you find the cost too high! Trust me...if someone phones me with an attitude, expecting me to slash there bill and offer them the world, but can't say please or thankyou - I won't. :(

People better be quick. This offer has been ongoing and will probably carry on forever.

I know this is slightly off the topic, but i know those of us who signed up a few months ago with the offer of £100 marks and spencers vouchers are having problems getting them.
They were messing me about something chronic, so i sent an email threatening to contact the advertising standards agency if vouchers were not received by .....date, and next step would be to cancel payments to sky tv due to broken contract by them.
    Received my vouchers this week.
Would advise anybody having same problem to do this as they will keep fobbing you off.

It took us 14 months to get our Tesco giftcard for signing up to Sky, some people would forget but I chased them up repeatedly! They halved our Sky cost for 6 months & then sent us £100 giftcard as a gesture of goodwill. Worked out in the end but after I'd had to call & email every month for over a year! X
