I got exactly the same response when I phoned for my mother.
The guy on the other end actually sounded quite smug when he informed me that I couldnt cancel as I was "not the account holder".
My reply was yes, but I could simply get my mother to ring and cancel anyway. The Daily Mail

Does anyone know if you can email them instead? I want to try my luck with them but I'm afraid I'm not very good on the phone
I am the account holder.

The lady I spoke to was lovely. I just said that I wanted to cancel as I was finding it difficult to make ends meet and she said she'd have a look at my account and see if she could help me.

I got the 6 months half price, 6 months ago.
Since then I've added bb and homepehone to my account, have I got a hope in hell in trying to get a discount again ?MSE- The Glitchhikers guide to the galaxy0 -
I have emailed them to cancel today. I'll post back when I get a reply. If I got a half price offer I would probably stay for the sky+ but I'm not bothered about not having sky - well I won't be until the footy starts again!0

Errrrrr, that was a bit of a shocker. I called to cancel cos my £17.50 'offer' had just finished and they had taken £34 out of my account today.
"OK" said Ewan, "it'll be cancelled on the 11th July. Goodbye" and that was it.
Not too bothered to be honest, it'll just mean I've got to watch or copy my recordings.0 -
I cancelled in feb, i recieved an offer not long after offering 3 months half price. i ignored this, and a few weeks later they sent me 12 months half price. i just rang up and took this offer up this morning, and apparently there is no tie in, only a min 30 day contract, rather than the 12 months that i was expecting! So ive got the variety pack and the knowledge pack for the grand sum of £10.25 a month.
pm me if anyone wants the code0
