Well I got a call from Sky on Sunday, my contract was due to end on the 15th. They offered me half price for 12 months so saving of £26 per month but no new contract, still on 31 days notice.

That's about as good as I could have hoped for :-)

  • So have any existing subscribers got any good deals recently?

I dropped Sky sports but fancy it back..but...I'm a cheapskate!

The only offers presented to me on "mysky" is a one off £5 Sky Sports discount.

    anything new>?
  • i called them today to say i was cancelling due to the prices creeping up. i said that i could get better packages with virgin or bt, with whom i could get fibre bb and a bigger tv box for less money.

after a couple of aborted attempts, i managed to speak to someone in their cancellations department. After some bartering and discussion, I managed to get an upgrade from the standard sky+ HD box to their 2tb one. i also got my broadband upgraded from bb unlimited to fibre unlimited, with the new router. all of this came at a price though....a LOWER one! Over the next 12 months (which is the contract length i had to agree to), i will make an average saving of £23.28/month, which totalled £279.44 less for the whole year than I am currently due to pay.

Not a bad way to spend an afternoon on the phone! :j
