I'm now getting freeview through the sky dish, which costs nothing. I've moved my phone and broadband to another company for £20 a month and will be saving £25 a month just by not having the sky TV. In consequence we are all watching much less TV, I do miss the Disney channel though0

My offer had come to an end, was getting all channels plus movies and multiroom for £30 a month, so I told them to cancel the other day.
I rang them again today and asked what they'd offer me if I took the broadband and Sky talk, so I've now got TV including movies and multiroom, broadband and Sky talk for £42 a month, I'm quite happy with that.
hi
does that include the phone line rental (with sky or without sky)?
thanx:j0 -

Mine goes off on 26th & I was hoping they would be in touch to offer something shortly after it goes off, like they did last year when they sent me a flyer for 12 months half price any package + £50 of marks & spencers vouchers. Oh well better get recording a tonne of stuff on to my hdd!
You do realise that when they switch you off, anything you have recorded will not be viewable, even from a FTA/FTV channel.
You will have to pay them £10 a month to keep the recording (and playback) facility!0 -

Is that definately the case? I thought that you only had to pay the £10 for the first 12 months of the sky plus contract and then after that you don't pay it - so why would you have to pay it if you cancel other packages? Just wondering as I am thinking of cancelling sky but want to keep recording facility.0 -

i got mine cut off in August and last week had a knock at the door. Shocked to find a sky rep standing on my door step offering me everything including movies and sports for £24 for 12 months or Entertainment extra for £12.50 per month for 12 months and on a 31 day rolling contract so within minutes i was reconnected :jwhen the rep was leaving he said if i wanted at anytime i could add movies for £8 for the year so phoned sky to add it and now being told thats not true  so just going to stick with what i have now maybe phone them again in a week or so try again but very doubtful.Sarcasm

We've only got the basic Sky box and the Discovery/Nat Geo channels etc (from channel 520 onwards). Husband pays every month on his credit card (£21.50 a month). Tried to access the Sky channels last night and every one was unavailable - said we needed to "upgrade". Turns out they said we'd miss a payment (we hadn't - the Halifax CC was paid every month on time but somehow Sky hadn't received the last payment?) so they'd blocked EVERYTHING! After speaking to them they admit we'd paid everything on time but they'd not received the last payment from Halifax, hence the block. We've had to agree to pay the "missing" payment by another means before they'd turn us on again - no apology - nothing.
This May we discovered £200+ had been taken from husband's bank account by Sky Digital, and another £200+ in June - no explanation, no reason, nothing. We got that refunded back by the bank but never heard anything from Sky as to why they'd done that.0 -
Just a word of caution for anyone transferring phone/ broadband to sky - my transfer date was last Friday & that's when my bb with TT was switched off. However, although I have sky for the phone, it's another 10 days until bb will be up & running. Frustrating!0
