Sky offer to me (existing Customer)

Contacted SKY recently as I only had a very old standard digibox and wanted a SKY+ box but couldn't afford Multiroom or HD. I was told it would cost me £99 for the box and £60 installation!!! I was annoyed at this and asked to be put through to Disconnections where I spoke to a very nice lady and explained that they were about to lose my custom to BT (where I could get a free box) and that this was a strange way to penalise loyal customers whilst at the same time rewarding new customers with the offer of a free box.
This very nice lady sympathised with me and eventually offered me a SKY+ HD box and installation free of charge - no increase to existing subscription charges for 12 months.
Thanks to all those members who shared their experiences and prompted me into action.0 -
Sky phoned me yesterday and offered me half price TV only (no HD) for £11.25, £7.50 unlimited broadband, £12.25 line rental. Total £31 per month.
Have people had better offers? Annoyed that I'd have to pay an additional £10.25 per month for HD.
Sky phoned me last week and said because I've been a customer for over 5 yrs would I like HD at 75% discount so only £2.50 a mthI also pushed and got another 3mth bb free

£11.25 ?
Aren't the new prices £20 & £25 ?
I called and gave a months notice about a month ago, so it will be turned off soon. My half price deal runs out and I wasn't willing to pay £52 a month anymore.
I did get an email asking why I was leaving but no offers or phone calls.
Probably only miss the Sky+ box, as most programmes are available online, as for the football again online.
I'll look into a hard drive recorder and use the £52 in the local :beer:0 -
Hubby and I deicded to call sky and tell them we were leaving to see what they offered - offered a free HD sky+ box plus 25% off. Then we realised that we only watch 2 channels on sky so the biggest money saver woudl be to ditch it completely - when i rang up and told them we actually did want to leave didn't believe and it took me a bout half and hour of persuading him that I wasn't after a discount and that I really wanted to quit!People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

As do most people, don't get annoyed about it
I'm going to try Sky tonight and get my stupid £51 bill down. Our box also dies every month or two and needs to be reformatted and unplugged for hours before it works again, so I'm going to ask for a new box.
I may just cancel and sign up again if they don't play ball, haha0 -
Anyone had any recent experiences?0

I phoned to cancel the Movies package at the weekend and was offered 20% off it, I didn't ask for how long because I wasn't interested in taking up any offer and just wanted to cancel.
I don't call them very often but on the few times I've called to cancel various things (usually Movies) over the 18 years that we've been customers I've never been offered anything that'd make me re-think.0 -
Just phoned to check i was out of contract and free to leave (couldn't remember when i changed my package last)
Sat here moaning to her like a call to the samaritans about the various problems that still haven't been sorted and general uselessness of Sky.
Didn't ask for anything
She offered me free HD and multi room (I don't currently have either) and said she was happy to sort something out if i wanted to stay
Didn't get any details, as i'm pretty keen to move to Virgin (Would you believe we have major issues with only being able to record two channels at once? lol)0 -
My discount of 50% off my tv package for 6 months has just run out so I rang and got offered free line rental for 1 year (£12.25). I am currently paying £92.88 that's for tv, phone & internet which is too much for me.
I'm going to try again and hopefully I'll get a better offer0 -
we are in the same position now as my husband just called them as we are in the last month of half year deal and he wasn't offered anything...oh well we will sit and wait... no way we are paying full prize, worse case scenario we are back to freeview...
just to update, we were cut off on the 8th oct and no phone calls but on Monday we got a letter in the post that we can have half price tv but have to pay full for hd... so if you dont mind being off for a month or so you will get deal... but i must say i was missing hd, recording and some channels...This will be mine in 2009 member's club no. 359 :happyloveCash £1000+, Holiday, Handbag
