Sky cold called me last week offering me the 50% off sky movies and sports for 6 months - NO CONTRACT and can cancel anytime within the 6 six months.

I took the offer up having just upgraded to the terabyte box so I can now record a load of movies, something that I couldn't do with normal HD box due to the amount of tv series that were stored on there, which turned out to be pointless as the HD Box broke to non repairable!!! therefore losing everything on there.. :rotfl:

I asked the Sky rep if there were any deals on the HD packages too as i cancelled these due to not watching the channels. Was informed no eve though I asked him if he could just do me a little deal... still said no!

I got 1/2 price phone line rental and a discount on sports because the football season has ended.

I just rang Sky after reading this and said i wanted to cancel sky sports as my husband only uses it, and to be honest now the football has finished i think its a lot of money for whats left they at first offered me £15 a month off the cost of sky sports if i didn't cancel for (three) months or half price sky world inc sky sports etc for three months, i said i didnt think it was really that good so they then chucked in free hd channels if i accepted the half price sky world package inc sky sports etc, so that little phone call has just saved me £36.25 a month for three months, so pleased i did it also the call was free as i used "say no to 0845" and got an 0800 number instead so really pleased with myself, and have been told to ring back again at beginning of september to see what they can offer me then when this deal runs out - thanks OP xxxx

mine is cancelled, think i have reached the end of my luck with the offers. Now i am just waiting to see who cracks first. 1) my husband will ring them and start paying for it (as its been a direct debit coming out of my account for the last 7 years)
or 2) sky will ring and offer me a deal.
must admit i m missing the sky + features, but i can do without the rest of it, my husband and dd on the other hand are beggining to crack without the simpsons.

I called Sky last night to cancel my sports channel (usually pay around £40) as we aren't watching it now and was going to renew in september.

I just said i wanted to cancel the sports channels as we weren't interested in them until the football started again and the lovely Scots lass on the phone said sky were doing an offer for all sports customers to keep the sports channels over the summer for £5 a month - and then it automatically reverts to the normal price on the 1st September when the season starts again (i know there are game sbefore !).

Anyway - didn't need to commit to any length of time - so can try again in september if another 'offer' .............. but she said is was an offer sky were doing for everyone - you just need to ring and ask.

I've just called to cancel sports & movies, and was offered 20% discount on my package for 6 months, saving £10.40 per month!

Well worth the cost of an 8 minute call :beer:
