Sky offer to me (existing Customer)
Comments
-
I have been leaving it but decided to give it a whirl today and see what they would offer me. Pleaded poverty and got a £25 credit on my account and 25% off tv package for 6 months. They also reduced my broadband from £15 to £12.50 for signing up for another 12 months. I did get offered the free upgrade to a Sky+/HD box but declined and held out for some money off instead.
Definately worth a phone call0 -
Ou Sky + box has gone wrong, can't record. OH phoned today and explained, choice was - a) pay £60.00 for recon box with fitting, b) pay £8.00 p.m. for warranty, then they would repair it for free c) upgrade to an HD box but pay another £10.00 p.m.
Can't afford a, b or c at moment (don't want HD anyway. Moving in next 3 months, so could we manage without Sky + until then. Cancel when move and sign up as a new customer, then get a new customer deal. What happened to customer loyalty benefits????MSE Addiction, should come with a health warning:money:0 -

just ring them back and cancel, when asked why say no point in paying for something thats broke, tell them your cant afford to pay to get it fixed. they will waive the £60 fee and send engineer out free who will swap the box..0 -
I called sky a few weeks ago, I told the guy I was upset as I'd tried to lower my bill last summer as I lost my job and the advisor at the time stated I was in a contract and that was that!
This guy was mortified and I told him I had just left BT and also needed to change from o2 BB and I'd already signed up with sky for whole lot.
Heres what he gave me:
25%off entire bill for 12 months
Half price HD
Half price multi room
Six months free line rental
Six months free BB
Half price Movie Channel
That has taken a £78 a month bill down too £38.03 a month! Very pleased I am.
Doobs
wow.. guess theres a first for everything.. never seen them offer so much in one go.. when lots of us were trying few weeks ago was just offered the 25% off as the half price had been hammered..0 -

i also was told this a few months ago when my hd box went mad!
i rang back the next day got put straight through to cancellations and told the man that the day before i was offered a new box and free install and didn`t take the offer up as i wanted to discuss sit with my hubby :rotfl: because we were thinkin of changing to virgin, as they were better value for us.
not only did i get my free box i got 50% of for 6 months also
then 2 weeks after that called and got another free box for upstairs i fully knew i was still not in contract and in a good position to haggle!
was supposed to be a normal sky plus one with deactivated hd but got a shiney new hd box
i would keep at it if you dont get the result you want just say your going to discuss your options with your partner and call back
if you don`t ask you don`t get :rotfl:
in my experience though if you say you have allready been offered it they give in a lot easier:rotfl:0 -
I dont have anything useful to add Millicent... but had to post that I love your avatar
The bloke's a buffoon - he employs a 'personal photographer' at our expense to make him 'look good' (remember, though, we are all in this together ) and then stands outside a Peacocks store having a 'photo opportunity' - and what a 'photo opportunity it turned out to be!

yes, its the we are all in this together bit that bugs me (well to be honest theres a lot more about him and his motly crew that bug me but thats another story)...it just seems some of us are more in this together than others. I havnt seen any news about stopping the subsidised bar and restaurant (or private members club some might call it) that they have in the commons, to busy concentrating on removing benefits and pensions from normal people I suppose
but the photo says it much better than I can0 -
I've just tried to go through Quidco to upgrade to Sky HD to get the £90 cashback and have hit a brick wall with the Sky website.
I signed in selected the option to upgrade with self install for a £15 fee plus £10.25 a month. This then took me to another screen where it would only let me select engineer install for £60. There seemed to be no way to put the upgrade plus self install into the basket in order to checkout. Useless website
Has anybody had any luck upgrading through the website?
I thought I would also give them a call to see if they could give me a deal to upgrade over the phone. The call centre guy told me £10.25 a month plus £15 self install of the box. When I mentioned Freesat HD he went away to see if there were any deals available on my account but all he could do was a free engineer install but still £10.25 a month.
Looks like I will be making do with standard definition for now.
I've just done it. At first it auto selects the £60 option, but when you click to confirm, it pops up with the option to self install. There's a couple of confirmation pages before you complete the order.
Also, you already need to have a Sky+ box, not just a standard Sky box, or you will have to have the engineer install.0 -
phoned to cancel been with sky 17 years and had no discounts, got hd half price for 6 months and half price package for 6 months and told to phone back for another offer then.
to watch pre-recorded stuff have you tried unplugging phone line first. was told that you can order box office if you not got line plugged in they cant charge you until its back in, not tried it so dont know if it works or not but it let may let you get to stuff on plus box0 -
Hi all, not sure if this has been asked but I did try and look for the answer. I took out the HD package last year, i'm not sure that I was tied into a 12 month contract but if I was it is due to end on the 6th of April. So my question is can I phone sky and try the cancellation route to try and get a better deal now or do I have to wait? Sorry for the ramble.0
