I had the same problem, i was charged four times at £41 and each time i phoned them they said they would need to send out an engineer with a charge, not sure how much it was but i refused.
This week i phoned on the back of this thread and told them i wanted to cancel, when they asked why i said need to save money and told them about the charges so she offered me 6 months half price package and a free engineer.
The engineer cam out on thursday and found we had a loose wire which he fixed, i then phoned sky to tell them it had been sorted and they have credited me with all the extra charges, a total of £160.
    Hope this helps.
didnt even offer to send a engineer out to me all they say was they sent me 3 letters, i only got one, so ive got to email them to complian and get my money back but the 2 depts i spoke to were very rude so will see wot happens when i complain

As with others - 5 min call - said I wanted to cancel - offered 1/2 price for 6 months - no tie in! Thanks Sky just what I need at the moment as hubbie made redundant today!

The best utilities company I've spoken to in the last 2 months - appreciating that times are really hard for everyone at the moment (orange, virgin, npower all been real hassle!).

  • 'now just changed it and my phone line to talktalk'

Good luck to you! I have been with Talk Talk for some time and I have never come across a company as bad as this lot. Can't wait to get away.

If you ever need customer service, don't expect to get any help.
They are always being voted as one of the worst firms to deal with.

I don't know what offers they are making but sometimes what you may save each month you spend on phone calls trying to get things put right. That plus the nervous breakdown they induce.

Spent literally since last July until Feb. this year trying to get my account sorted.

Called sky just now, stating the reason that "I don't think I'm getting Value for Money since I rarely get time to watch tv". Initially she tried to take-off the sports pack off the package to which I said that's the only thing I watch if I get time.

Finally she asked me what can they do to keep me from leaving:eek:, I bluntly said "unless you can offer me a better rate". She put me on hold for 5 mins or so and then came back with 50% off for 6 months which I accepted. Trainee operator? may be...
  • Just noticed that on Quidco they currently have a deal for existing customers who are looking to upgrade to Sky+HD. You can get £90 cashback from Quidco making the cost of a years HD only £4 extra a month (10.25 x 12 = £123 + £15 Self install = £138 for 12months - £90 cashback = £48 / 12 = £4). Im tempted to take out this deal but Im currently receiving 6 months half price deal on my TV subscription and Im wondering if anyone knows if Sky would honour that if I took out this offer?
Thanks to all that post competitions :)

  • Anyone got a freephone number that works? The one on saynoto0870 doesn't work. TIA!
  • Managed to get a free phone number that worked (0800 0466434) and just rung them. Really nice chap, said we LOVE Sky BUT can no longer afford it as on short time blah blah blah. I think the 'love sky' is important because you are basically saying you are only cancelling due to cost and not that you don't watch it much.

Bear in mind we are just coming to the end of our 1st year back with Sky on a brilliant package of Sky World full package with sports and films and HD for £35-00 per month (£25/mth discount) I wasn't sure we'd get much of an offer (if any). But no, half price for another 6 months with no tie in and asked to ring up in 6 months time to see if we can get another offer! Well chuffed!

Yeah, if you unsubscribe from the channels, you can't watch what was recorded from them, stupid if you ask me.
