To those who have cancelled after not getting anything offered to them - has anyone had sky get in touch with them during their notice period?0

called the other day as i am coming to the end of my 12 onths free hd. asked the woman are there any deals at the mo.
she said no and that they dont offer deals anymore to people that ring up. she also said as i have had quite a few deals that she would put a note on the comp to say i cannot hae anymore.
i asked her how come my dad has just phoned and got half price tv and she said he must of gone throguh to cancellations. so i asked to put through to them.
chap on the phone was really lovely, he siad why did i want to leave, i said i couldnt afford it and he came straight back and said would 6 months half price tv help! result!!
he also said to phone again 31 days before that offer ends and they'll see what they can do again.
very very happy:j:j0 -
- just signed up for multiroom, paid £60 for installation and set to pay £10.25 per month. Also about to start paying for HD (got first year free). We have Sky Sports Pack, so were looking at a monthly sub. increase from £44.75 to over £65.
Thanks to huttonc, I sent an email on Tuesday to : 'ExecCustEnq@bskyb.com'
- got a call from Sky yesterday. Initially they didn't 'play ball' - advised that I could cancel HD if I wanted to reduce our monthly sub (!). However, the person I spoke to let slip that currently new customers can get multiroom installed for free and 1/2 price monthly subscription. When I said this was unfair on existing customers, I was immediately offered a credit to my Sky a/c for the installation charge and 1/2 price multiroom sub. for 6 months. No joy re: reduced channel sub. for 6 months - apparently that offer wasn't available to my a/c.....
Rang back and got through to cancellations. Mentioned that we had been with Sky for 18 years, felt it v. unfair that subscription offers were not made available to all customers. Person I spoke to said that offers should be made available to the more loyal customers such as myself and agreed to 1/2 price sub. for 6 months! Also mentioned that it shouldn't be necessary to speak to cancellations to get such offers.....
Summary - for Entertainment pack + Sports, HD, multiroom we will be paying £37 for 6 months + a £60 credit (multiroom installation refund) to set against future bills.
Result!
Thanks to everyone on this thread for the advice:T0 -
I've cancelled a few times. Sky will get in touch with you during your notice period. We've had just 2 mixes - variety & knowledge. If I remember correctly we were offered this for £7 a month for 6 months & then renewed it at same rate.
We have no sky at the moment and yesterday had a letter offering us 1/2 price for 12 months + a £50 M&S voucher - this brings it down under £6 a month for a year.
I'm tempted BUT we only have an old sky box - no Sky+ facility which I'd really like. We were offered a free engineers visit last year as box was playing up slightly. We didn't take this.
IF I took up the offer of 12months 1/2 price + £50 M&S vouchers - as we were offered a free engineers visit last year does anyone know if we could possibly also blag a free Sky+ box or hopefully HD??0 -
Phoned sky a few days a go to give notice to cancel and they offered me half price for next 6 months saving £26 a month.
I also have 2 sky+ boxes as multi room, as my son is a way at uni it thought i would cancel his until he is home for the summer, i just called them and they offered my the service free for the next 12 months with a 12 month contract that runs within that 12 month period.
So all in all with just two phone calls i have saved £276!
This is the first time i've ever got great offers without having to ask.
Thanks0 -
If you give notice to cancel and they do not call back, I take it you can change your mind within the 30 days and keep the current service. Anyone know for sure?0

Our sky Plus box has broken and I telephoned yesterday. Having been told it would be £65 for an engineer, I spoke to cancellations and said I couldn't afford the £65.
He offered me a free HD box and free installation to keep me as a customer. Also 50% off for 6 months! So yes - you can get a free box and try for reduced subscriptions at the same time!0
