Phoned Sky today to "cancel" no deals on
package price so I asked about Sky+ as I've
only got a standard box and I'm getting free Sky+HD box
with free installation and no HD subscription so Im
quite pleased as Ive wanted Sky+ for ages :j0 -
Hello
Sorry, I realise this is BT related and not Sky but just noticed TCB doing £131 cashback if you sign up to vision, broadband and calls. Surely this is a good deal, is it? It's 10gb allowance a month, is that enough for surfing the net?0 -
10gb will be okay for general surfing. but, if you are likely to, eg, download large files regularly, share files peer-to-peer, watch internet tv such as iplayer etc, then it probably won't be enough for you not to have to watch out how much you're using each month.0

I called last week. Told them Virgin had a better offer and I was leaving.
They tried to sell me HD and I said no. I'd lost two jobs in the last year, and had 6 weeks left on this job. Either I save money my swapping or I go freeview!
He amended my package to make sure I was on the cheapest deals first, so I downgraded my internet, and lost 3 TV packages (not that I have noticed it TBH)
after half an hour I insisted I was leaving, then he said he could cut the cost of my sky TV package by 25% for a year (not the broadband or line rental)
The downgrades and the discount saved me £15 a month for the next year. I think after that it's a £7.50 saving on the changed packages!
It was cheaper then virgin, so I was happy to take the offer. I think you really have to be willing to leave them... getting prices off the Virgin website helped (you have to look at a like for like package though, not just their cheapest option... as I got grilled about it)
Was defiantly worth it thoughWe spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy! Mortgage Free Wannabe :dance:Overpayments Made: £5400 - Interest Saved: £11,550 - Months Saved: 240 -
Got offered 25% off last night for 12 months but would be tied into a new 12 month contract and would not be able to get any more deals within that 12 months. Was told half price offer had ended so went ahead and cancelled so if they don't ring and offer a better deal thats £30 a month i'll be saving.0

Generally it has been 6M / 50% or 12M / 25% (Same thing effectively)
that's what I thought. Which is why I asked. Because santamonica6 is holding out for a better deal because the 50% deal has gone. I figured that since both meant a new 12 month contract that it was the exact same offer... differently worded! We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like.
