Having only been a customer for 6 months (TV (3 ent packages + HD + Sky Sports), phone and broadband), should i assume there are no deals to be had for me, because I'm on an initial 12 months contract? I've already tried to get rid of the HD and save myself £10 a month but I hadnt realised that it was on a 12 month deal.

Well it looks like Sky are still offering deals, phoned up on behalf of my mum and although i couldn't go through to cancellations (as my name is not the account holders) they very nice man i spoke to assured me that i will get a great deal if my mum telephones back by 11pm tonight! RESULT! I wasnt expecting the guy to tell me this before i had got through to cancellations.....:j

You do NOT need a phone line. The phone line is there to order Pay per view movies etc, nothing more. Mine has NEVER been connected since I got Sky years and years ago. Son had multi room put in his room last week and guy asked if we had an upstairs phone socket. I told him we hadn't and was it just for the PPV as I'd rather son never had access to that anyway and he said yes. He set up multi room, never touched any phone line and all running well!

as i said in my post earlier, i had sky for years, never used the phone line, but when i had multiroom they were very strict, kept sending me letters then trying to charge me for extra sky instead of just the multiroom - apparently i was breaking the multi room contract. so beware......

Sky Multiroom: £10.25 pm. Provides the same Sky TV channels as your main Sky TV subscription on a box in another room. You must subscribe to Sky TV throughout and an extra box is required for each Multiroom subscription. Each box you have must be connected to the same fixed telephone line at all times. To receive your HD subscription channels in another room, you'll need another Sky+HD box and HD Pack subscription.

  • Well I'm happy :j

Thought I'd missed the boat on this one but just phoned and got half price for 6 months so now paying £11.50 instead of £23 and no tie in - also advised to phone again in 6 months to see what they can offer then. Been with Sky 12 years and would miss it I didn't have it. She did look at my account to see when I'd last phoned though so be aware if you phone daily to try and get a better deal they will know.

She checked when you phoned but some other posters have had problems with calls not being logged?! Sky makes no sense! :rotfl:

I phoned last year & got the 6 months half price, wasn't sure when this expired so gave them a call just now to find out it's not until March 2nd. I asked him to put a cancellation in ready for that date & got offered another 6 months half price...don't mind if I do!
