I rang this morning as I'd added Sky Movies at the beginning of December and wanted to cancel as they seem to just repeat the films. Anyway he offered me the Movies for half price for 6 months so I accepted the offer, £8 extra a month for all the movie channels isn't too bad :)

Has anyone on the half price for a year plus £50 M&S vouchers deal actually received the vouchers yet? I can't remember (if I was ever told) how many months you have to wait for the vouchers.
    Tks if you can help

I had to contact them several times about the vouchers. If you go on to the sky website and look for contact us in the email section. My vouchers only arrived the other day and I joined 7 months ago lol. I will see if I can find the link tomorrow

It works with one feed, you just get a few less features. You can't record two channels at once or change the channel while something is recording, and you don't get Sky Anytime. It's still worth it to me.

Cheers. I have got a newish Sky+ box stuck under the bed bought for £30 last year as a supposed freeview spare only to find we don't have Sky connection upstairs (we moved house), got it without realising you might need 2 wires, might be worth using it downstairs as the old box is getting pretty ancient now.

Just rang sky and made sure i went through to the cancellation department. Just said that after looking at my bills I am looking to cut costs is there anything they can do to help me out.

Currently got full package, internet, sky multi room and hd. He said he could only offer me a discount on the sky world package so for the next 12 months I have 25% off which will save me about £150 maybe slightly more by the end of the year.

We have to pay £17 per month for the internet but he assured me more services will be coming to our area in the next 3 months and we won't have to continue paying £17 per month. I will be phoning back in 3 months time to make sure this happens!

    Every little helps!

I've read the posts on here before re Sky deals. I would like to try this out. but am thinking that if I say I want to cancel as I can't afford it they will remind me that I also have my phone and broadband with them (which will be more expensive separately). I am interested to read on here that Sky now only use the standard and HD boxes. I have Sky + which I had free about 3 years ago and it is playing up a bit and sometimes failing to record, this has happened before and Sky told me to do a system rebuild. At the mo I don't have a HD tv so don't have Freeview to fall back on if Sky did accept my cancellation (and also of my phone and broadband) and don't want to pay for a new box or repair and call-out. I also live in a flat so even tho the call would be to sky as well as the contract, an outside contractor would call to repair or reinstall a new box.

I got a half price 6 month deal 4 months ago & have just noticed that it's gone back to normal price. Also bear in mind that if you porting to sky talk, that you lose BT's free voicemail service & sky won't set up any of your existing settings unless you specifically tell them (Ex directory / line being blocked etc)

I also had a problem with my box in the multi-room which they advised they would charge me £100 to resolve - I got a box from e-bay for £26 which worked perfectly.
  • Im going to have a go but think will wait for about 24 to 48 hours before I do. I think they may have cottoned on that we are all having a go at reducing bill so will wait a bit. They get a bit grouchy at the end of the day.
