The reason I got onto Sky was because Virgin would not give me any better deal than I had already (with Sky and Virgin mix) . I did try some gentle persuasion telling them if they could just do something about the box / installation I would move but they wouldn't offer anything other than published internet offers. I already had my phone and broardband with Virgin.
    Good luck

ok i have sky+ at mo in my husbands name, but he has now left but they wouldnt change the name. we now have a sony hd tv, and i want to upgrade to the hd box bot without the hd subscription. was thinking of cancelling my sky+ in my name and starting anew thus getting the sky+hd box as they give that one to you whatever package you order. i just dont want to have to wait without sky for however long they take. also another plus is that my current sky+ box is 80gb whereas the new hdsky+ is 250gb.

what shall i do? cancell? or just threaten?

It sticks in my throat a bit how Sky seem able to offer various different deals dependent on whoever you speak to! Are there no guidelines about this, e.g pricing policies etc?
We live in an area where we have poor tv reception and have been with Sky since it first appeared on the scene, and have managed to wangle a free sky plus box in the past. My dad has been with them since the beginning too, has an HD package (complete with sports AND movies) but his works out cheaper than my normal package! Go figure!
I also have internet and phone through them - guess its time to shop around a bit!

Shop around-find a better deal and ring them back saying you're going to cancel, that will soon get you the deal you want.

There's no obvious freephone number, if you get free 0870 numbers you can call Sky HQ 0870 240 3000 and ask to be transferred but the dragon there said no to me lol it worked in the past though so worth a try
