Sky offer to me (existing Customer)
Comments

I phoned to cancel the movies and my HD subscription last week and when asked why I wanted to do this I said now Xmas was over we would not watch so many films and this was not worth £28 per month, I told the lady on the phone that most of the HD channels we watch are free anyhow (BBC & ITV etc).
After being put through to cancellations I was offered HD for free for 6 months and movies for £8 per month for 6 months so £20 saved, this was also not in any type of contract agreement either.
I do have both my phone line and internet with Sky and have been a customer for 8 years. I often ring them to change my package, of the two years I have had HD I have only ever paid for about 6 months during this period. Movies and sports always seem to be on a deal of some kind so it’s well worth phoning to update your package, after all their not going to ring you!
Good luck.0 -
thanks op!
just phoned sky and quoted the virgin media package and was given 6 months with 50% off, so £150 saved :j:j
he did say i wasnt the first person to phone quoting this tonite :rotfl::rotfl:
thanks again !0 -
I have the full package plus telephone and broadband with Sky, when I called last July to cancel movies they offered me 10% of TV for 6 months. This has just finished so I called again to cancel movies on Wednesday, I pointed out that through no fault of my own Im having to pay £17 a month for broadband but they wouldnt budge and cancelled the movies with a months' notice. Im now thinking of ringing and cancelling the whole lot in a couple of weeks in the hope they offer me something
Well done to all of you who got good deals from them
I don't know if I'm getting better or just used to the pain.

Thanks mickyduck. I was a bit worried that they might not give the deal to me because I can't get virgin cable in my area. However I have given it a try .Asked to go through to cancellations and sure enough they offered me 50% off the Tv price for 6 months. Thats £156 saving for me. OH will now have to stop moaning about the time I spend on this website.:j:j:j:jEnough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D0

Has anyone on the half price for a year plus £50 M&S vouchers deal actually received the vouchers yet? I can't remember (if I was ever told) how many months you have to wait for the vouchers.
Tks if you can help
It took them about 3 weeks to send me the vouchers. That was in about June.0 -
Thanks OP, on the recommendation I just rang Sky, said I was reconsidering my package [2 mixes and sports @40.00/pm]... she hmmmmed and haaaed over my package then offered a discount of 8.50 p/m which I gladly accepted.:j
It was only when i put the phone down I realised this was just under 25% of my montly bill....but then u cant look a gift horse in the mouth. Every bit counts. Plus reading back a lot of people who got offered 50% off... had the full package and thus maybe its a pro-rated discount??:o0 -
going to be tyring this myself as i dont watch the movie channels anymore and see wot happens0

We had that rate for 6 months when I called last year and its just come to an end so I phoned again a few days ago and they offered nothing! I think its because our offer has only just ended and like you we don't have movies so maybe next xmas we'll go the whole hog for Dec then cancel and see what they offer.
Currently have sky sports 1 + 2 pending cancellation 6 Feb (31 days notice) so may call them again and see what they offer.0 -
Thank you OP. My husband just phoned and they gave us the choice of 25% off for 12 months but with a new contract or 50% off for 6 months (no new contract) off the tv / movies sports subscription so we opted for the 6 months at 50% off. :beer:0
