We had an original sky box and got offered half price for 6 months yesterday and the free sky+ box with free install ( hd box just not hd enabled so when/ if we want to upgrade we have already go the box)

Thanks adviceforall . I just knew Sky were giving me a bum steer , saying nobody on the old Sky digibox were getting half price deals. Im also annoyed that I told them NOT to apply the 20% off offer he did offer me , as I had a feeling that would invalidate any other offers... the guy just went ahead and did it .
  • If they don't ring me or send me a deal I will ring up and cancel my cancellation !! I would miss my planner too much, but saying that most of it is now available on freeview i would miss Sky1, FX and living more than anything.

    Hi janiePH

Try ringing again. (or wait for a while if you can like Jarr suggested,we couldn't as box dying!))

I cancelled (as rubbish offer given)and waited a few days, and rang back and have got a new box coming (£15 posted out for self connecting) and half price for 6 mths, but am tied in for 12 mths (the not so good bit!).
we have been with them 9 yrs (ish)

    Hi Lovemykids

What did you say when you rang back? I'm not too good at this, I rang the number Monday but was in a 10 min que and chickened out

i just phoned, i subscribed last march and wanted to know when i could cancel! she basically said march! phone back in feb to cancel! couldnt offer anything to stay, couldnt price match or beat my current phone provider (if i added my phone and broadband to my sky) so nothing, zilch, zero!lol
did ring talk talk after and told them i wanted to move to sky and they are doing my line rental, unlimited broadband, unlimited international and national calls, for £20 a month so happy with that! i did say 'are you sure all that for £20?' and he said yes as long as i dont ring mobiles too much!

Have read thread with interest, ive been with them over 10 years on the full package. I rang recently to discuss downgrading my package or possibly cancelling it for a few months for financial reasons, as wouldnt want to be without it totally or for long, we don't go out much and do watch it a lot as a family.

I got through straight away and found they were extremely good to deal with, both people I spoke with were really great, friendly and helpful. I have been given Sky+ HD box, installation and no monthly Sky+/HD charge, as long as I keep some kind of Sky package for 12months(so could still downgrade if we needed to) - if I cancel Sky in next 12 months Id pay £10 p/m for the Sky+ for the remainder of the 12 months, plus I have 20% off my package for 6 months.

Im really happy with how they treated me and with what they offered me, it was fitted yesterday, within couple of days, and Im really pleased with it. As Ive never had any service problems or issue with them in all these years, and they also replaced my dish and cable due to length of time we've had it, Im really happy with it x

would be cautious - due to my experience I am leaving them at end of contract as the £20 p/m seems to come out at around £30 p/m on the dd, once it was 34! and I cant get through to them to discuss it, I got through to CS overseas, when they left message on my landline to say there was a fault and they were dealing with it, had to call from mobile which cost fortune as premium number, they repeat back to you what you are ringing for when you finally get through and its nothing like what you said to them, they told me a load of rubbish and were rude.

email complaint gets nowhere, whatever your experience of Talk Talk, watch your direct debit amount like a hawk, as ours is never the £20 quoted :(

I currently have Sky+ with the 6mix £24.50 per month. I fancied a new Sky+HD package, I have just called and thought I'd go down the route of cancel the account to save some money and the Customer care advisor said "Of course, that's not a problem". I didn't even get an offer of a new box or anything. So that's my 31 days notice given. I wonder if I'll get a call back from Cancellations department. My misses is going to go mad when she finds out she can't watch Sky1/2/3 Living etc etc. OMG what have I done !!
  • Piratetaff, you have 31 days to call and cancel your cancellation! Sky may call you and offer you a deal to stay in the meantime.......hopefully!

I must admit I had a sleepless night on Friday after I cancelled thinking OMG what have I done. But we have 31 days to cancel the cancellation, I just received my letter this morning confirming the cancellation it does say "if there's anything we can do to change your mind" all you need to do is call and we will get you back up and running within 24 hours!!
