Sky offer to me (existing Customer)

rang before xmzs and was told no deals SEE YA!!!!
rang yesterday, and got......rid of my old sky+ box, free new hd box, free installation, and free hd for six months:j, all being fitted on thursday, couldnt do anything about price of my basic package with mixes or add at a discount:(, but told to ring back next week to sort a deal out:j.
quoted the virgin deal even though we cant get it properly!!!!

Just wonder if anybody who still has an older SKy digibox like me has been offered the half price 6 month dal - as Sky told me I wouldnt get these offers as Im on an old piece of kit.

They have offered me a free Sky + box , but withe a 12 month contract. Wonder if I then have to wait those 12 months for any offers to come up (as contract due then to expire).

I called at the weekend, tried to cancel, nope you are in contract. Fair enough.

Decided to bin Sky Sports, called tonight, we can give you 50% off Sky Sports for 6 months. Got rid of it anyway as we are going to try alternatives.

I have old box- basic package and broadband. Called end of last week-tried to persuade me to move phone to them. In fairness it would save money! If I move phone- I will get my broadband halfprice(£7.50 p/month) plus they offered me sky plus box (no tie in) and told me once I get it to call back 31 days after for reduced TV package. She told me I couldn't have half price TV with a hardware offer (though I think some others have got both). I asked her if I would get another discount after 31 days-she said yes- all calls were recorded and she would lose her job if she were telling me lies......I had said I would have to think-but she is due to call me back tomorrow..x Good luck!:)

We had an original sky box and got offered half price for 6 months yesterday and the free sky+ box with free install ( hd box just not hd enabled so when/ if we want to upgrade we have already go the box)

i only mamaged to knock a fiver off my phone! as we only subscribe to 2 tv packages there was nothing he could do for me. I wanted sky+ box but not hd as dont want to pay £10 per month extra! thansk OP as it does make you look at what you can save! £5 is better than nothing! :-)

sky doesnt do any more standard sky+ boxes. they only do Sky HD boxes which have sky + features. HD subscription is not mandatory, they will of course try to sell this to you but you can say no

if you want a box then call them again and they can surely give you the sky HD box.

Update...Lady rang back today (exactly when she said!)-went through my notes of our last conversation and what she had offered me. She told me that if I did not want to proceed then I was under no obligation to do so.
Said that we did- got free sky plus/hd box-(not having hd activated so not paying hd subscription) and free installation. Changing my phone from BT to sky- she then said I can give you half price line rental for 6 months (which she had NOT offered before) and my broadband is reduced from £15 to £7.50 p/month. I am not tied into any contract:D... only if I were to have had the sky HD subscription.
Thankyou very much to OP and the rest of you...am really rubbish at this kind of thing but am very happy with this-have saved money AND got a new sky plus box & installation for free:T x

Well done sounds good. Can you tell me, are you receiving Broadband Connect (the one when you're not in their £5 area?). Also, how much is their line rental do you know?
