Sky offer to me (existing Customer)

So, call #1 was made yesterday (saturday) and got a really nice guy. He explained the offers avaliable at the moment, as being half price TV subscription for 6 months and then another offer as a free HD box, £15 installation and 6 months free HD subscription.
I thought great, but then he said I could only have one offer but if I was to call back the next day (today) someone else could apply the other offer.
So, I opted for the 6 months half price TV.
Call #2, I called today, advising the guy I spoke to yesterday offered me "free HD box, £15 installation and 6 months free HD subscription", she advised that the best she could do today was as per, but only 1/2 price HD subscription for 6 months. I told her to read my notes and there it was saying 6 months free HD, after being on hold for a while she said her system couldnt do yesterdays offer, so was putting me on this offer, free HD box, free installation and 1/2 price HD subscription (£5pm), BUT to compensate the subscription cost she has applied a £30 credit to account. Happy Days!
So all in all, i've got 6 months 1/2 price TV subscrition, a free HD box, free installation and free 6 months HD subscription all for making 2 calls to sky.
Thanks for orginal post advising to call.:j0 -
Thanks OP!!!
We have Sky 5 pack with premium pack, HD pack, ultd bb & line rental and currently pay £80p/m for this.
I called on the freephone number & the nice man who took my call said I'll be completely honest but I don't have any decent deals to offer you! He said all he could offer me was £5 off the HD sub fee for 12m (would have been a saving of £60 which is good), but even he said there are better deals around so I personally wouldn't accept that!! :rotfl:He offered to put me through to a colleague in a different team to look for a better offer!
Lady i got wasn't anywhere near as friendly, but got straight to the point & said my colleague told me you've called cause you need to reduce your monthly costs, so i can offer you 1/2 price TV sub for 6m!!! I said yes that sound good, plus with your colleague previously offering me the half price HD sub so with that as well i am really pleased, but she said she can only apply one offer to our account! I informed her 'friends' had told me they had got more than one discount given to them and some even got 1/2 price for 12m, but she was adament this wouldn't have happened, only other offer was 25% off for 12m! Rather than dispute it further i happily accepted the 1/2 price for 6m deal, giving us a total saving of £153!!
Having read through the thread though, some people seem to have been successful calling back a day later and asking again about deals, but is this only if they haven't already accepted a deal during the first call?!! Should i call back tomorrow to see if i can push for an even better saving e.g. the 1/2 price for 12m deal or at least get the £5 off HD sub in addittion to the 6m offer i accpeted tonight?!!
Any advice would be great, thanks!!0 -
No one has got half price for 12months!0

People still not waiting a few weeks. The 6 months offer is given when they have all offers used, hence the easiness of getting it.0

Many thanks op
I phoned the other day mentioned about virgin offer (even though I could not get it in my area) thought If they did not offer me a deal I would phone back an use this as a reason why I changed my mind not to cancel.
Lovely cs lady on the phone she offered me either 25%off tv for 12 months or 50% off for 6 months
I went with the 50% off an she even advised me to phoned after this period to see if they have any more special offers they can offer me.
I had to renew with a 12 month contract but I had no intention of cancelling my little boy would be very upset to lose playhouse disney
So im very happy :T0 -

Our box is dying!
Guy over the phone tried re-booting it ect. but is totally gone ( makes a really odd noise when it is switched back on) hard drive had it I think.
I was quite happy to wait as suggested by Jarr, but now this has happened can't really as the box could go any when and we are now paying for what we can watch live only as no planner.
rang yesterday and was offered a engineer to call and try and fix it,and if can't which he admitted was unlikely (9 year old sky+) would give us a reconditioned one!! in its place.
Asked nicely if he could give us a new hd+ with 6mths 1/2 price fees and free con. but no go,so I have cancelled.:(
Soooo don't know if I've done the right thing,do I wait a couple of days and see if they come back to me with an offer or ring them back myself?
Help please. (still confused and I've read the whole of this thread!lol)
I'm lost without my planner!:(:(

After days of nagging by me and sitting him in front of the laptop to read this thread, hubby finally called Sky.
He quoted the Virgin offer but almost instantly the lady asked him if he had got a quote from Virgin and he quickly had to reply not yet as we can't get it here and she knew it! He said he was just googling other options to try to save money as the work situtation was a bit precarious. After 10 mins of chatting about the state of the country and the public sector in particular, she finally got round to offering him the 6 months half price tv but it was a bit of a tortuous process compared to the experiences of some other posters, but we'll have saved £150, so well worth a few moments of discomfort I think.
