Been reading about people paying £15 for their broadband, according to the sky website if you have sky tv unlimited broadband is £12.50 it drops to £7.50 if you have your calls and line rental with them, if your paying more than this maybe people should call them as the prices don't match

Broadband costs from suppliers depend on the local telephone exchange and whether it has been upgraded or not.

Not everyone can get the cheap broadband deals that are on offer.

    Hello all

Called up Sky yesterday stating I wished to cancel. I'm on a basic package with no phone or B/B. They asked why and I stated I wanted to move to Virgin as they were offering half price digital TV for 6 months (in fact I cant even receive Virgin in my area).

I was put on hold and the man came back stating that they could offer a free Sky+ HD box and installation. I tried pushing for a discount but he said none were available. I ended up accepting.

To be honest I'm quite pleased with this as a few months ago I phoned for a Sky+ box and was told it would be £199 and £60 installation.

Given the channels we watch moving to BT or Freeview isnt an option so I'm pleased that now i'll be able to record programmes.

Thanks to OP and all others on this board as I wouldnt have called up otherwise!

    My current package is
    Sky World £52
    Sky Broadband unlimited £15
    Credit because sky talk -£5.00
    Sky + HD Package £10.25
    Sky Talk £11.25
    Talk Unlimited £5.00
    Unlimted talk Credit -£5.00

    So I am £83.50 a month!!

I am going to look at all my option this weekend and hopefully get cheaper either with sky or an other. BTW virgin has the best broadband ever!! Do not always buy the biggest package with sky because it all depends on what can go through your line

I called and got 50% off for 6 months which I am really pleased with but wasn't offered a HD box. Anyone had any joy with phoning back and getting a box after accepting a deal?

I'm on the phone to sky now and... get this, they want to actually CHARGE me to cancel!!!!!! They put me through to cancellations and said it would cost me to cancel now, even though i have been with them for over 2 years!! I got a new box last april so current contract doesn't end untill then!! Think i may ring back end of march early april and try again!!!!!!:(

You are in contract, of course they are going to charge you to cancel, you are breaching the contract by cancelling early... It's irrelevant how long you have been with them, a contract renewal for a minimum term is just that!

i know lol, a bit cheeky of me but if you dont ask you dont get as the saying goes. Still think £400 to cancel is a bit harsh though. In all fairness im more than happy with sky, i dont go out so my tv is my treat (and it keeps my nippers happy). Will try again in april.

    Hi all,

Called Sky 15 mins ago, mentioned I wanted to cancel due to the price im paying ( £30 which includes tv with 2 "mixes", bb and phone) and also that my Sky+ box is 3 years old and is an old thomson 80gb one.

I managed to get a HD box but need to do a self install for £15, but thats ok as i will try to Ebay my sky+ box for that amount. I also got 6 months half price tv and the call was about to be closed................... and then he put me on hold again and then said i have to take the HD pack but he would do it for half price as well so £5.

Im still not sure if im totally happy with that outcome but he did say i should call back in 6 months to get another deal. It does depend on who you get as people on here have had the lot without paying 15 quid and others havent had the box. Best of luck to you all:)

Is the 6 months half price tv you're all getting the full sports and movies etc?
