Sky offer to me (existing Customer)

Just called now-you do have to say you are cancelling ! i said BT Vision & Virgin Media were cheaper (had basic figures written down).Nice lady said they didn't want to lose my custom etc...
I have Sky basic package-kids/entertainment & music channels-£21.50/m
Sky broadband also at £15/m.
She offered me Free Sky plus box and Free installation.
She could not (she said & echoing others on here) - offer me reduced price TV WITHOUT me taking on their phone package.
If I take their phone-they will give me halfprice broadband (reducing from £15 down to £7.50/m)-overall price would be £45.25/m inc phone & broadband & TV.
She stated that if I upgrade to Skyplus (no extra)-then as they can only offer 1 offer at a time- I should ring back after 31 days and then they would be able to offer me reduction on TV package.
She's ringing me on Tues-have to think about it -though Skyplus for free would be nice:rotfl:
Should I trust that I can ring back after 31 days and get an offer? She said calls were recorded and she had given me correct info....
So if I am unable to take their phone package( tied in elsewhere ) they will not reduce my TV package ?0 -
I have just phoned sky. I currently have the basic package (no phone or bband). My box has become very noisy recently and remote is not working either. They offered me a free sky+HD box, free installation & 6 months free HD pack (so cheaper than their £65 engineer coming to fix our box).0

Hi ! I would still try it ! I am not sure if it is standard procedure to only reduce if you have all 3 things with them (tv/phone & broadband). It would be interesting to see what they said to youI was told that in order for them to give me a reduction on TV package I would have to have all 3 with them-she said that the computer wouldn't allow her to. It would allow her to upgrade me to Skyplus but not reduce anything. I could have taken my music channel off (£1 !!) but obviously I think she was more intent on trying to give me a freebie and get me to move my phone over to Sky too-which would save us a little money.
You have nothing to lose by trying...I'm rubbish at things like this ! xxx
Good luck:):hello: SHARING THE LOVE (OF A BARGAIN) x0 -
I just called to cancel, was a day early on my notification for my own account, so will call again tomorrow. However I was offered 50% off for six months on the TV portion - the HD, broadband and phone line costs would remain the same. There was no extended tie in on this offer, I'd be free to leave within those six months.
I'll probably just ring tomorrow and cancel. Sky costs me £53 per month, Virgin would work out to £30 per month for essentially the same pack over the first year. (plus I'd have iPlayer and the like).0 -
You'll get that easy. Sky are easy to haggle with, their perfect one for them is the one who phones up and says, i want to cancel, sky says, 6 months half price? customer says yes. People aren't pushing them. As I've said before, hang up and try someone else. As an example, I wanted to get my boadband cheaper. The guy wouldn't budge, I hung up and literally phoned them straight back, got through to someone else and happy days.
As I've said, they only get a certain amount of good offers per week. That's a fact from Martin himself. So many are phoning you're all getting 6 months half price.
I'm getting so ratty because I know people can get better if they're patient and also are more cheeky and haggle more. I personally think 6 months 1/2 price is poor.
Do you think so?
I see a few people are saying that you can only get a good offer from them if you have tv+bb+phone with them, I have tv and broadband which comes to 47 pound a month, I wouldnt even mind if i had to enter into a new contract with them to get it
I hope you right Jarr and i get it easily but i wont find out for a few weeks yet0 -
My OH works for Sky and I've heard him say many a time what offers he's given people, and usually more than one offer on same account at the same time - so advisors can do it if they feel like it.
Sky have also banned employees giving away staff friends & family offer codes on internet forums - stupid cause we're all friends on here. So OH banned me from giving out codes here, as I've done in the past, which is a shame cause they're brilliant offers.

I have all 3 (and I was overpaying for my broadband) but they only offered me free Sky Plus box (not HD) to replace my basic Sky box and free installation.
Having thought about it since yesterday, new customers get offered more than that and I've been with them for 8 years. I may actually go over to Virgin as broadband is more of a priority for me than TV and as someone said above bb is not Skys strong suit!0 -

Hi ! Would you be able to give us an inkling of the kind of offers that they can give at the moment ? I have TV/Broadband but not phone with them. They are saying I would save money by switching phone (true!) -offering me free skyplus & free installation- then 31 days after call back to get an offer on reduction of TV.....don't worry if you can't offer info-(understand about the codes)...just I am useless at haggling:rotfl::rotfl:
Thanksx:hello: SHARING THE LOVE (OF A BARGAIN) x0 -

I do not have phone or BB with Sky, yet I was given the 50% off my TV package for 6 months.
So it's definately worth a try.0 -
Thanks OP - we can only get Sky in our area but rang cancellations direct and they gave me half price on the TV package straight away :j so thats a bit less to pay - unfortunately it will go towards the increase in the oil bill but it all helps!! :money:Free/impartial debt advice: Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS) | National Debtline | Find your local CAB0
