Sky offer to me (existing Customer)

are the people who arent 'getting the offers' actually asking for anything ? It pays if you know in your mind what you would accept/expect and (politely) ask for it, the CS staff wont be able to make a retention offer if you dont make it completely clear you will cancel if you dont get what you would like !Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0

Usually if they give you a free hd box and half price hd sub you are entering into a new 12 month contract, that's how I got one last year, it'll be running out in April so will cancel the hd pack0

I have had previous problems with SKY and ended up cancelling on them in the end when my original standard sky box gave up the ghost and they tried charging me £60 for a replacement when I could have purchased a second hand one for less.
In the end I cancelled and my wife signed up a new account so we got a free new hd box with the sky hd offer from skyhdoffer.com she got £60 worth of marks and spencer vouchers instead of the usual £50 which I beleive is linked to referring a friend. Touch wood no problems so far and the SKY+ HD box is under warranty so nothing to worry about for a few months yet. Sky seem to be bringing out newer and better boxes all the time with ever bigger storage. I can not beleive I stuck with a standard box for so long.
Whats generally the best thing to do if anything goes wrong after 12 months though? I guess newer boxes are going to cost more to fix.0 -
Isn't there anyone who's gonna be patient and wait??!!0

Me! Im waiting
Ive been keeping an eye on the thread to see what sort of offers others have had so I know what to hold out for, although i would love to get 1/2 price tv package for 6 months, free HD box and installation and multi-room which i dont mind paying for, Is that too much to ask lol
Im going to give it a few weeks before i phone though :T0 -
Wouldn't give us anything as our contract is not up till next month so they said we would have to ring up then. Anyone else found this?0

As previously stated, they won't give any discount while you are still in contract. Some people see the glass half full, others see the glass half empty - the enlightened are simply grateful to have a glass0

You'll get that easy. Sky are easy to haggle with, their perfect one for them is the one who phones up and says, i want to cancel, sky says, 6 months half price? customer says yes. People aren't pushing them. As I've said before, hang up and try someone else. As an example, I wanted to get my boadband cheaper. The guy wouldn't budge, I hung up and literally phoned them straight back, got through to someone else and happy days.
As I've said, they only get a certain amount of good offers per week. That's a fact from Martin himself. So many are phoning you're all getting 6 months half price.
I'm getting so ratty because I know people can get better if they're patient and also are more cheeky and haggle more. I personally think 6 months 1/2 price is poor.0 -
jarr, to be fair i rang them before you suggested waiting...
