  • thanks for that shortchanged, I did think they'd cut me off almost straight away!
will call later on, I was serious when I called as changed jobs and was short on money for 'luxuries' for a while, obviously didn't come across as meaning it though
  • I called yesterday and got 6 months half price, was happy with this.
I was offered the option of free HD box and installation and half price HD for 6 months but it would tie me into a new 12 month contract so I went with 6 months half price (only £26 full package) as I was not obliged to go under a new contract.
I just went through to cancellations and told them I had been shopping around and quoted the Virgin offer, then asked them if they could match it or I would cancel, they offered these deals with no trouble.
  • i tried today, we have the whole package but only added movies for Christmas, rang up intending to cancel the movies but managed to get 20% off our whole package (inc movies) for 6 months, yes not the 50% i would have loved, but better than nothing!
    mummy to 3 monsters!
trying to money save, but spot too many bargains on here!!
  • You really do have to say you are cancelling to get the best deals. As has been said before, even if they do just cancel you (highly unlikely) you have 31 days to either just tell them you don't want to cancel OR wait as long as possible during that 31 days for them to ring you with a killer deal (this usually happens within the fortnight) . It's not rocket science. Getting the best deal from Sky involves playing their little game.

Lol...didn't work in my case. I sat by the phone willing it to ring with an offer to stay/come back and did they phone? Did they heck. :rotfl:

I was paying £80 odd quid a month to them so I thought I was worth keeping. :D Thought wrong though.

Cheeky gits. I rang yesterday and was told you only get an offer if you ring them and they can check your 'personal special offers' in your account. I just laughed :rotfl:

What a load of baloney, l'm going to ring tomorrow and tell them l'm going to cancel.....

    Happy moneysaving all.

Thought all Sky helpline numbers were free if you have Sky as your telephone provider?
