Oh Blimey, of course you do !! If you entered into a 12 month contract, you agreed to pay the price for 12 months (or pay a cancellation fee if you cancel before 12 months).
They are hardly going to offer you a discount 6 months in, when they have already got you committed to a specific price.

3 weeks or so before the end of the contract, ring to ask what your price will be after the contract ends. Thats the time to negotiate.

well you would think that this is the case but in actual fact its not. i called up in march (i was already about 6 months through a contract where i had got sky+ for just £29 becasue i threatened to leave them). I called to say that some friends had been offered sky+ hd with free install and 12 months free sub and i wanted the same. after a bit of determination and after speaking to 3 people i got just that, a free hd box, free install and free subs for 12 months.

its pays to phone and ask, youve got nothing to lose:beer:

i also should mention that i added the movies for xmas online. was going to cost £16. i called them straight away to give them notice that i wanted to cancel after dec. the woman asked had i been offered any deals on line, i said no and so she came back and said that she could do the movies for half price for the next 6 months.

she said i dont have to keep them for the 6 months, i can still cancel them at any time but if i want them for the whole 6 months at half price then i can.

doesnt make sense as i was willing to pay £16 but hey im not complaining:rotfl:

  • Just tried to cancel and I was told I cant as I am not the account holder. My OH has a password thing as he hates dealing with anything on the phone and is often away. Pity he;s so rubbish at negotiating we could really have did with saving something :(

  • Hi can anyone help or give me some advise please?
My Bill Each Mth is £81.50. This is with no box office or any extra's we get which makes the bill never less then £105 each mth.
    we have
    SKY WORLD-£52
    SKY HD-£10.25
    MULTI ROOM-£10.25
    ESPN-£9.00.
We have had this for well over a year and always paid this,I rang sky earlya and they said they could bring my bill down to £70.50 each mth instead of £81.50, They did try and explain how,but i got really confused.
Is anyone else on this sort of package for the same price?
Is this about right what i am paying each mth??.
Or should i try and ring them again?
Any advise would be really helpfull
    Thanks alot

We have exacty the same package as you apart from we don't have ESPN. We called yesterday and have ended up paying £33 ish per month! :T

Give it another go and see what happens-it took two calls for us (one each, playing one off against the other!) but we're happy with what we got in the end.

But the important thing is, that everyone seems to be omitting, what did you SAY to get that amount off??
