We pay about £40 a month for full package SKY+Hd phoneline and free broadband :j
  • I managed to get myself a free sky+HD box.

not bad i guess since they wanted me to pay £200 last week when i called for it (or sign up to hd package)

main problem i had was my standard box only has two scart cables and something called an r20 able, so i couldnt have my dvd player and sky box plugged into my new tv. (silly tv, it has more hdmi sockets than i have had hot meals, but has only a single scart)

But the important thing is, that everyone seems to be omitting, what did you SAY to get that amount off??
I don't have the same package as CG77, but after getting through to Sky cancellations dept I said that I wanted to cancel our sky as a Virgin Cable rep had offered us a better deal of 6 months half price full package subscription, free hd box and free installation, which we were going to sign up for. I said it was a shame as we had always been happy with Sky but it was too good an offer with those savings to turn down. I then waited for the sky offer......
  • Really.
Where on earth do they get all the diffrant price's from?
Thanks alot i will ring them again in the morning. hopefully they will offer me a better deal xxx

The main thing is to politely say you are cancelling your sub because you can't afford it any more.

You have to say you want to cancel.

Lullypops that sounds incredibly cheap. Can I ask do you have any call packages with that and what broadband you have? Seems like everyone is paying different amounts.

I told them that we were going to have to tighten our belts this year and unfortunately Sky was a luxury we would have to do without. Lovely lady said as a longstanding customer she could offer me 6 months at half price :j:j
  • Spoke to a lady last night and told her that unforuntately we had to cancel our sky.

Told her that we'd overspent at christmas and need to lower our monthly spending.

Just before we were about to cancel, she told me that it would be a shame to lose our custom and that she could offer me half price sky for 6 months.

Thank you OP, saving me about £30 per month.

Agree with what other posters have said, you do have to say you want to cancel and just wait to see what they offer.
