And this is a permanent offer you say?

Yes. As I said, space it out. Get details of what others offer and haggle. If you're not satisfied hang up. I was offered 6 months half price a few times and this may sound greedy but I think that's a poor offer for what you can get.

    My current package is
    Sky World £52
    Sky Broadband unlimited £15
    Credit because sky talk -£5.00
    Sky + HD Package £10.25
    Sky Talk £11.25
    Talk Unlimited £5.00
    Unlimted talk Credit -£5.00

    So I am £83.50 a month!!

Can anyone tell me if I could get this package (or similar/better) with virgin??

Gosh such a lot of money.

I have just been given a HD box (not by sky) and I don't see why sky need to send an engineer to install it, even when we upgraded ourselves from a standard box to Sky+ the hardest part was getting the twin cable through the wall! The only contact I've had with sky over these upgrades is to register our viewing card to the 'new' box and I don't think they will offer us a great deal like others as we aren't in a 'virgin' area so sky has the monopoly here :(.

£22 for full package excluding sports. Free HD. £5 for free calls 24/7. Free broadband. £10 line rental. £5 multiroom. When I switched to HD I had the box and installation for free.

Sorry to sound nit picky but how can it be the full package if it doesnt have sport? My full package is £52 a month so does that mean that sport is worth £30 !?

Also Free calls 24/7 are only up to an hour each call and then you are charged if you dont put the phone down and redial just so people know, I learnt this the hard way

Wee_Den I have Virgin VIP XL Package

I have multiroom in 4 rooms aswell as Front Room with the front room having a V+ Box

I have all my telephone calls 24/7 free other than 0845 etc, I also have the super fast broadband

I do not pay any line rental to BT like you do with Sky and I pay £76.50 a month with Virgin with the exception of any calls I make to the numbers that are chargeable

If I went to Sky to get all of the above I would have to pay £116 plus whatever line rental is at BT

Also I have just phoned SKY (for those who are existing customers) for my Dad and he has just got a SKY+HD box for Free no extra monthly payment and no installation charge, however I did have to threaten to leave to get this!!

IMHO Virgin is better and miles cheaper although there customer service call centre is a lot to be desired however, this has no impact on there service or engineers who are all fantastic, plus it is CABLE therefore in bad weather its hardly disrupted... in the 4 years I have been with them I have never lost any service (touch wood)
    I love a Bargain

well just did a quick call to cancel, 8mins later I now pay half price (11.25) for 6 months with no further tie ins!

has to be the quickest call to sky ever for me!
tried a couple of times before christmas but would only give me 6months 1/2 price with 12month tie in and only with my movies still on the account, I ended up just removing movies (nothing worth watching imo) and now have what I originally wanted :)

when you say you have multiroom does that mean you can watch different things in different rooms? (I know probably sound like a right ninny to some people) also how many hours of telly can you tape on the plus box and how many channels can you tape/watch at the same time, sorry for all the questions but thanks so much for getting back to me.

    :-)

In November i got a 6 month extension of a previous offer of 20% off Sky World and half price HD subscription. Got my statement the other day and got the Sky World discount but not the HD. I emailed and was told there was nothing they could do, i have since emailed back and said thats not good enough. Awaiting further reply.
