Sky offer to me (existing Customer)

Hmm, I'm interested in this. My Mum is a sky subscriber, in a rural area where TV reception is impossible except by satellite dish now. Don't know exactly what package she has, I know she doesn't subscribe to Movies, but does get Sport 1 & 2 (an unusual mix for a lady of 80, but it makes her happy).
She's been a Sky TV subscriber for 3 or 4 years now. Should we give them a call to see if we can get her bills down a bit?0 -
Many thanks to this. I mentioned to my husband so he has just rang and explained we needed to cut down to basic package as we were short of money. They offered him 3 months as half price so he thought for a while and then the man offered it half price for 6 months Great Result. A big thanks to you all2013 will be the year I go from frump to fab. With help from my friends.0

Cant believe the number of people getting offered 50% off , yet all I got was a measley 20%. 10 years with Sky doesnt seem to matter :-(
Full marks to those that got 50% though.
I may retry in the morning.0 -
i called sky yesterday in the hope of getting some money off my mothly charge (i was on the full package), to my surprise they didnt even bother giving me a deal, so in protest i carried out my threat to cancel my subscription, they gave me a 30 day notice period, do you think they will call back in the hope i may reconcider? which i will if i get a decent deal? or should i start planning on going to virgin?0

What are you paying Jarr?
Also everyone who is ringing now, are you out of contract?
I have about 2 1/2 months left on mine but I am wanting to cancel HD then anyway.
£22 for full package excluding sports. Free HD. £5 for free calls 24/7. Free broadband. £10 line rental. £5 multiroom. When I switched to HD I had the box and installation for free.
My father in law recently just had sky+. I went to his house pretending to be him. Had free HD box and installation and sports for free.0 -

You should have hung up, given it a few minutes then phone again to get another advisor. Or just leave it a few days. They won't cancel.0 -

They would give me the new HS plus box for free and the engineer to come out for free! he then said there where fazing out the standard boxes and i could have this now and i could have a discount in 12 months times i replied this is not a great redemption and i shall look on line for a better deal as i did not really need my box to be changed as it worked fine and he then said that would not get a reduction in cost i said several times that i wanted to cancel and he did not change he then said we would contact me at 8pm tonight with any other deals i might be able to get?
Think he was fobbing me off i currently pay £54 per month for sports, movies and Broadband!
Anyone able to help me get my month bill reduce? or would i be better off going to another supplier?
Ideas please!!
Phone back and speak to another advisor. Each person is different.0 -
I rang them in the end yesterday telling them that I was looking at ways of reducing our outgoings and weighing up if any cuts from Sky would be worthwhile or to just go with my standard Freeview for the time being. They agreed to 25% reduction on my TV package for 12 months. They did offer me 6 months at half price or this spread over the 12 months.
What I do really want though is an upgrade to and HD box as our old sky+ one is tempremental. I tried to get her to agree to this, but the best she could do was suggest I call back another time and then try and get them to send an engineer out!
I'm not sure whether I should try and call back tomorrow and say I've had a change of heart and having looking into further deals, feel Virgin will provide me with all I need, including the HD box and see what they say - I'm just not sure if I have the nerve!0
