  • Thanks for this, have been meaning to do it for a while. Have full package + multi room and was initially offered free HD package which I declined and then offered half price for 6 months saving £30+ month, thanks OP.

I don't really understand why you seem determined to sabotage this thread. It has had 140 replies (without including your half a dozen posts none of which have been helpful).

Whilst you seem to have constantly condemmed this thread you are apparantly also reading it??

I am sure admin will move any threads if they have been posted incorrectly - perhaps you are a disallusioned SKY customer stuck in a full price contract - or perhaps you are just another person clogging up the internet with time wasting comments.

I realise that by replying I am providing you with a forum, but hope that you will consider using your time more constructively if you wish to continue participating in this website which is designed for us to help each other.

Stuck in a contract? lmao I haven't paid full for sky for years and whenever there's a price change I renegotiate for better TV, HD, phone and broadband. As I said earlier I go to peoples houses to haggle for them. I'm just amazed that people haven't seen any kind of thread like this before. There's been a few in this section.

We have the basic package, plus half the Movies, and HD pack, comes to about £40 a month. I was thinking of calling up anyway to ditch the movies, as they changed the channels and it's pretty pants to be honest, so thought I'd call after reading this thread this evening. Maybe I just didn't pitch it right, but they didn't really offer me anything :(, just offered to take parts of the package off (HD/movies etc.). I'm usually quite good at getting deals . Mind you the girl I spoke to was Scottish so might have something to do with it ;) (see my userid!). Brought it down to about £30 but didn't really leave us with much more than freeview to be honest. I'd be happy to jack the lot in, but Sky+ is handy and and the Mrs can't live without The Universe's Next Top Model (on bloody Living), so don't really want to cancel.

This is what I did, saying I would discuss it with my wife and see what she thought about cancelling it completely, so maybe they'll call back with some sort of offer. I didn't make that last bit up either as I do need to check with my wife as she'll go mad if I cancel it all without telling her first! :rotfl:

JamieMac. I rang Sky yest after reading this thread and said I was thinking of downgrading the package, the scottish girl hmmm and haaed and then offered 8.50 -20% off for 6mth. I took it as it was better than nothing.
But then kept reading on her abt ppl getting 50%
So I rang back today and they said "Oh you rang yesterday and got 20% off" to which I replied "yes Ive had the chance to look at competitor deals and mentioned BT Vison", she didnt budge but as soon as I mentioned "Virgin tv" she immediately offered 50% off for 6 mths.

It was worth phoning back and mentioning Virging tv package.

If anyone has Sky broadband just mention you have seen cheaper deals elsewhere. The best is if you say you have a mobile contract with Orange and they offer free broadband. Or tell them BT have offered a package to rival theirs. If you write down what YOU want and some prices from rivals to quote you'll negotiate easy. I can assure people 101% you WILL get a better offer from Sky on all packages, you just have to push them. Make sure you go straight to cancellations though. If you're not happy hang up and try with a different advisor. Remember the amount of time you have been with Sky usually means better deals. I've been with them since day one and pay a ridiculously low amount.

This isn't meant as a dig but getting things cheaper for a few months is poor compared to what you can push them to IMO.

    What are you paying Jarr?
Also everyone who is ringing now, are you out of contract?
I have about 2 1/2 months left on mine but I am wanting to cancel HD then anyway.
