    Hi,

Can I just ask what exactly you and Vinto got for the £26? We'd like to try the same thing so just want to check what it includes please.

    Thanks!

I have the complete sky world package, which is normally £52 a month, channels, plus sport channels and movies. I rang and said that I was cancelling, and they instantly offered 50% off for a year, they DID try to get me to go down the contract route, but I just pointed out that I had been with them, contract free, for 10 years, so they immediately dropped the contract. Hope that helps!
    January GC: £64.81/£80.00
    February GC: £24.60£80.00

Thanks very much. Do you have HD too? If so did they make you an offer on that? We have the same as you plus HD and multiroom so trying to see what we can get that for! :D

    Thanks again

Right just rang have been with Sky 4 years and as i had a standard box they said they would up grade the box to a HD Plus box but if i wanted HD i would have to pay the additional £10 per month told the CA about the virgin deals and BT vision and he said there deals where better very strange.

They would give me the new HS plus box for free and the engineer to come out for free! he then said there where fazing out the standard boxes and i could have this now and i could have a discount in 12 months times i replied this is not a great redemption and i shall look on line for a better deal as i did not really need my box to be changed as it worked fine and he then said that would not get a reduction in cost i said several times that i wanted to cancel and he did not change he then said we would contact me at 8pm tonight with any other deals i might be able to get?

Think he was fobbing me off i currently pay £54 per month for sports, movies and Broadband!

Anyone able to help me get my month bill reduce? or would i be better off going to another supplier?

    Ideas please!!

i called to cancel over xmas period, they immediately offered me 6 months at 50% off. it still wasn't enough to make me keep the subscription with them.

got a freesat hd box now. it will take me 6 months to recoup the initial cost of the box that i would have been paying for sky.
You got to get through what you've got to go through to get what you want but you got to know what you want to get through what you got to go through.

Hi all. I appreciate there's a lot of choice on Sky, but do people find time to watch the additional channels they have? Are the channels worth the additional money?

    Just curious!
    KiKi

I watch a lot of the American Shows; True Blood, V:The New series, Nikita, Dexter, Lie to Me, Nip/Tuck(Now finished), Desperate Housewives, Glee and many more.

The kids watch all the childrens channels, cbeebies, NickJnr, boomerang etc.

Most of these shows premiere early a few days after the states on SKY many are on pay per view subscription channels such as LivingTV, E4, Sky1 and FX. Some of the shows do filter down to the free channels but much later on in the year or possibly after a yr or so, examples are Dexter on ITV, Glee and Housewives on Channel4. Even V:The New Series was on Virgin1.

My mum has freeview through her TV and cannot see E4, Fiver or the +1 channels that SKY TV offers.

It really depends if you are into the import shows and like trashy/reality tv.

Once youve had SKY its difficult to get rid of it and go back to Freeview as you get used to certain things and programmes.
  • if you say you are still too expensive then end your call politely of course ... with in a few days maximum at most they will come back and offer you HD free for a year.
