    Got it through cancellations. I just said I was going to cancel as it was too expensive and had been offered a better deal with virgin. 25% is better than nothing! Will do for starters.
  • Our 6 month 1/2 price deal finishes at the end of September. I've just rung up and been told (as have many others) that they can't offer any deals whilst we are still in the 1/2 price period. So I've cancelled. I'd be happy if they ring and offer another deal but also happy to save even more money if they don't!

    Just an fyi, Sky is offering a free box and free setup with 1st multiroom subscription - offer ends 23rd Sept.
  • Just phoned to cancel and the best deal on offer was 25% off for 12 months. So, am gambling on an improvement before switch off in a month! Gulp! I'm wondering whether people generally get a call back from Sky retentions before the cut off happens?
    But there are dreams that cannot be,and there are storms we cannot weather!

  • No letter or call from SKY for us and and it has been off over a week now so we have looked into Virgin and can get a better offer including phone and broadband too (only had SKY with SKY) as well as movies, HD and a second box and we will save £9. per month so DH sorting out tomorrow, although we have had a friends and family recomendation to get our offer so good.;)

    My existing 50% discount ran out at the beginning of this month - have just phoned Sky again and have been offered either 6 months at 50% or 12 months at 25% discount. Very pleasant guy who quickly said he would see what he could do to help when I cited cost as my reason for needing to cancel. He did explain very clearly that its not possible to get a new offer until the old one has actually run out - so its a waste of time calling them duuring your last month of discount. I accepted the 6 month 50% an am very pleased with the outcome.

    be wise how you order this, ie over the phone or on the web..

    i added multiroom onto my sisters account over the phone, i got a free skyhd box but got charged 30 quid for the setup, so if you want free setup i suggest you order this on the web...and keep in mind you only get free setup with the SKYHD BOX, not the SKY+ box, see below what the sky advisor told me

    so if you do it online and want a sky+ box they charge you 200 quid for the box and 30 pound to install it..

    why they didnt tell us this over the phone and give us any options i do not know, some of the sky staff are numb, we have been with sky for 6 days now and weve been on the phone to them 5 times already as they messed up our packages and then proceeded to give us 3 different bill quotes when we called up.

    i have emailed complaining to them about why they treat new customers like this, i dont care if we have been with them for 6 days or 6 years..they shouldnt get away with cutting us off, promising our packages will be on in 4 hours and they never came on for 5 days cos we had to chase them up to find out what they been doing wrong and then getting told a different quote for the bill each time we rang up !
  • If anyone has any half price friends family codes free, i am on the hunt for one as want to take out sky asap
