Sky offer to me (existing Customer)

AAAARRRRGGGHHHH SKY make me sooooo
We have been customers since buying our own house over 11 years ago. got the half price for 6 months offer in Jan this year and rang up to cancel stating financial reasons and offered nothing so they accepted my cancellation request, it ends later this week!
I rang yesterday on behalf of my parents to get them the 3 months free ESPN offer and spoke with a lovely man, the most pleasant I have ever dealt with at SKY! By the end of the conversation my parents have a SKY HD box arriving later this week, free of charge, and a 12 month contract at £4. per month as they are Sky Sports customers, they are really happy as they have a 25% off for 12 months offer running too.
SO thought I would chance my arm, ring and get......... nothing !!!! apart from a massive phone bill:mad:
So I am hoping that I get a call of SKY offering me the world, and fast;)
Although, think we may look into Virgin as they are in our area.

Each operator has individual offers to give so don't expect ever single one to offer the same. An ex employee posted on here saying they had x amount of deals to give away per week.0

Just had two seperate conversations with Sky. First one we said we wanted to cancel as could get better service with Virgin for the same money - they said "fine"! Offered nada. So then backtracked a bit and said I wanted to check that virgin could set me up before they disconnected me and also read on here how they cut people off immediately and I've loads of stuff to watch on my box!
Then made another call saying we wanted to make some changes to add sports and reduced some of the ents pack and what could they do for us? Answer? Nada! We have everthing with them (phone, line rental, broadband) so much for being a loyal customer might just cancel now out of principle!0 -
i wonder if sky are inundated with people asking for discounts because it was in Martins weekly email this week0

Just to let you all know i was on a half price offer for 6 months and cancelled because i was not offered anything.with the football season now started,i was in the doghouse..!i was tempted to wait for sky to call me on the day the contract was due to finish and get 12months half price as some people have got,but did not want to take the risk.anyway to cut it short,i called up four days before i was due to finish and told the operator 'i was offered six months half price when i called to cancel, but could not take it up then as i was struggling financially but i am ready to take it up now..' anyway the operator said let me see what i can do and came back with either six months half price or 25% off for 12 months...
Took up the 6months half price instantlyy..
So anyone worried they wont get offered anything, call up and do what i done 0 -
I cancelled yesterday, I had it installed 1.5 years ago and always had the half price offer (12 then a 6m offer) I was offered 25% off but imho its still to dear. So cancelled and will £350ish better off :-)
no loss to me it was all repeats, anything I watched seemed to get cancelled and my mates watched it all weeks before me downloading it from the internet0 -

This is very similar to my mindset on them... whilst its half price i'll lap it up. Still a lot of money IMHO but if you like sports / movies which I do then its not too bad... although I could get sports streams on the web (just not very good quality) and can easily download movies too.
IMHO some people are far too attached to their sky TV though - the threat of cancelling (stupidly) scares people like they are about to lose their children...
If ever Sky don't let me continue the 1/2 price offer, i'll just cancel and wait for them to come crawling back which they always do...A big believer in karma, you get what you give :A
If you find my posts useful, "pay it forward" and help someone else out, that's how places like MSE can be so successful.0 -
all new deals come out on thursday morning...phone up and threaten to cancel then and you will receive a deal
:j0 -
Well ours is off, as of today.
How long has it taken SKY to contact you after cancellation has gone through, with a new offer ?
My boys asking for Playhouse Disneyand I am gutted too as Geordie Shore Magaluf started last night:sad:
Off to look at Virgin now I think......
