You have to give 30 days notice if you downgrade so you have missed out, because there are only 15 days until the packs change.

Oh, is it 30 days notice for any changes? I thought that just applied to movies. Oh well.

Any downgrades require 30 days notice. Upgrades don't ;)

I'm going to call tomorrow and cancel a couple of channels, not all the way down to 19.50 though. Do you have to cancel variety too, or is that just if you are trying to get down to the 19.50? Meaning I don't mind if I just take my bill down to 21.50 for now and it stays that way, but will it work if I keep variety on there? I was going to keep knowledge and kill music and style (don't have children's).

Skibster I phoned on the 1st of August and told them I wanted to go down to 1 pack and chose to keep the music as this will be part of the entertainment extra next month and therefore mean I will get all 6 packs for the price of 1. If however I had chosen to have variety or style and culture as my 1 pack I would still only receive these on Sept 1st as they alone will become the Entertainment pack (1). As the 30 day cancel clause applies it meant no loss of the other 2 channels I have now (variety and knowledge). Also to Cubbington, i see no reason why you can't try and downgrade your pack and pay for one. as long as you do this before the end of the month and chose anything other than variety and style and culture to keep, then you will get all 6 channels.

What does the price go up to on Sept. 1 for new additions? Meaning, if I try this and it doesn't work and I have to add the channels back on after Sept 1, will I have raised my bill?

Skibster the price of your subscription on 1st September this year will remain the same until 31st august 2012. After that date and on Sepstember 1st 2012, the Entertainment package (variety with Style and Culture) will be £20 and Entertainment Extra (all 6 mixes) will be £25, so only 50p more a month if you already have 6 mixes. There are changes to movies and sport packs too and details can be found here.

    just to let others know,
I had cancelled sky and was not offered any deal.
They went ahead and process the last payment to be took off my bank.
Sky phoned me up today, day before cut off, and offered 12 months half price, no contract, just have to give 30days notice if I don’t want sky any more.

I just had the same today, i had actually rang twice during notice period and was offered nothing. I said this to the guy today, and he said that was very strange.

But anyway, another 12 months half price

Hubby just phoned sky as our 6 months Hd half price is ending and he was told that no furthers offers are available. Hubby then asked how much extra sky sports would be . Operator went away and said we can have it for £0.10 per month.

    10p a month?
  • Hope someone can help please - I am finding this very confusing! I currently have Sky 3 pack plus premium which is Variety, stye and culture, news and events, movies plus HD. When the new packages come in what one would I be on also what could I downgrade to take advantage of chdeaper package if that makes sense! I am paying £59.25 including HD which i am finding far too expenseive. I did have six months half price but when I rang again they gave me 25% off and a discount on my phone line
