sky freephone - 0800 0466434
ask for dept for cancelling your sky0 -
called 0800 0466434 went through the options and selected thinking of leaving us. On hold for ages and basically said I'm really happy but virgin are offering such good deals I'm going to have to leave. She asked me what I'd been offered and I said the same channels for £12 a month for 6 months and she simply said well would you stay if we offered half price for 6 months. It was as simple as thatYou laugh because I'm different - I laugh because you're all the same0

Tell them "I would like to cancel sky television package" and nothing else... you will get put through to someone else who will ask how they can help, again say "I would like to cancel my sky tv", nothing else.
Wait for them to asky you why you would like to cancel and make up a reason - good ones are you are short of money with the cost of everything else going up, or they have cut your hours at work so you need to cut costs....
They will chat to you along the lines of "if we could cut your costs, would you stay" and may ask you some questions about how you use sky i.e. what channels do you watch, do you record programmes etc...
They will eventually ask who you have internet and phone with and will try and get you to take their broadband and phone - if you don't want to do this either tell them you don't have internet and phone or that you are in contract with another provider still.....
They may offer you a new sky HD box (or may not) but if you take this option they will require you to take the HD sub at £10 a month if you don't already have...
Stick to your guns and keep saying its too expensive and eventually they will offer you half price for 6 months....
Don't worry its a lot easier and quicker than I have made it sound and its all very friendly.
I can't stress heavily enough though, DO NOT ring up and ask for half price offer or ask for a special offer or discount.... in my experience ONLY asking to cancel your TV package works....
Finally, I only have their full TV pack (cheapy channels plus all movies and sports but not HD. I do not have phone / broadband with them so I have no idea how having these will affect what offers you get.
Good luck and make sure to report back how you get on....
Oh and if you get 6 months half price, ask when the half price offer ends and stick a note in your diary for 30 days before that date to ring back again and get another 6 months half priceA big believer in karma, you get what you give :A

hey, i have had the basic tv package (no sports or movies) and sky talk (no line rental) and broadband for about 4 years. hubby wanted sports so i rang up at the weekend and just said i wondered if there were any offers available on my acct. without even thinking about it she offered me sky sports for half price for 6 mths without being tied in for a year and said to call back when the 6 mths end and they will be able to do it again
so i have got all sports added for an extra £9 - i have a VERY happy hubby right now
