sorry to sound like a noob but still don't get what you did to get it down to £19.50, are you still going to be getting both entertainment packs at that price, or only for a certain time?

css there are 2 Packs. 1 Entertainment and Style & Culture and the 2nd is Entertainment plus which has all 6 packs, but not movies or sport or HD as these are seperate charges. Come Sept 1st Sky will automatically move you on to one of the 2 packs Ents or Ents plus) based on your subscription now. The link I posted is a good guide, as if you currently have either/only the variety pack or style and culture (home makeovers, food) then you will be put onto the Entertainment & Style & Culture pack. But if your current pack includes any of the other 4 packs (music, kids, knowledge, news) then you will be put onto the Entertainment plus and have all 6 channels. To get this at the lower price you must ring sky and cancel all but one channel before Sept 1st 2011 and if you want to still have all 6 channels, then make your single channel one of the last 4 I mentioned. You will then pay £19.50 instead of £24.50 until August 31st next year, on top of any charges for movies, sport and hd. Changes made after sept this year Sky told me, will incur the new charge after the price freeze, £20 for Ents and £25 for Ents Plus.

so your basically getting enterntainment and ent plus for £19.50 a month until next august (cause of the price freeze) then next year choose something else probably.

so im currently on all 6 packs (entertainment and ent plus) paying £24.50 a month, and if i don't do anything sky will probably freeze that price (£24.50) till next August, right??

so i should ring them and say change my package from entertainment plus to just entertainment but add the music channels in, which should bring it to the same price as you but will also include everything else in ent plus? :dance:or not lol

Entertainment is 1 pack containing variety and style & culture, Entertainment Plus is the Entertainment PLUS the remaining 4 , music, knowledge and news. You will get one or the other. To use your subscription as an example, if you do nothing now, you will pay £24.50 until 31st August 2012 and be on the Entertainment Plus, so you will see no change, but if you want to keep the 6 channels and pay for 1, you need to pick from the Plus channels and just keep 1 of music, news, knowledge or kids, you cannot add another single channel outside of these packs so just pick music for example and you will then pay £19.50 for all 6. As I said before, due to the 30 day notice, you won't lose any channels. I think the new payment will then show on your next bill. Not checked out the movies and sport prices, but they are also on the link.

ETA: The link calls the second pack Entertainment Extra, not plus lol! Same thing tho!

ok cool, but when you say you'll get all 6 channels but only pay for 1, how long will that be for?, or for how long will they give me all 6 channels whilst only paying for 1 and more importantly why will they do this lol, can you only do this online or something?

If you want to downgrade/lose channels, then you can only do this by phone. I don't know of a freephone number, but if you have sky calls, then it should be free. Listen to the menu and I chose the billing option. The £19.50 applies for as long as the price freeze does ( due to end 31st Aug 2012) and then it will be £25 if you chose to keep all 6 or £20 if you ring before Sept next year and go onto the Entertainment with Style & Culture pack. sorry to ask so many questions it's just that i don't want to lose any channels that i've got

Even though i don't watch a lot of the channels at times they might show something i want to see lol, then probably also get shouted at by the family lol

obviously we don't know what sky will do from next year but your saving £5 a month so £60 for the year then if sky move you over to the ent plus/extra option it's just an extra .50p from what you used to pay

I phoned sky to downgrade to variety and kids and was told I can't downgrade as the packages are changing at the end of the month

I was told you can't pick single channels outside of the 2 packages, the kids pack will belong to the new extra next month, maybe ring again later (before 9 so you know someone will answer!) or tomorrow and tell them you want the music channel as I have picked. They allowed me to do this with no loss of my current subs as it was before sept 1st.
