Well if that's the case, I think you'll be alright, it's not that long for people to fill! The kids are the ones that may kick up a fuss, could you maybe put a movie on for them, or hire a magician/bouncy castle/etc? Just something to keep them amused & out of the way before the party gets going. Either that or with the colouring book maybe add a couple of cheapo small toys to go with it, again it's cheap but will keep them occupied while the grown ups are chatting away.

Thanks, I do like the colouring book idea and the movie, the bouncy castle/ magician is totally out of price range, as the church wasn't in our original budget but the registry office was too small ( only sits 40) so we've already added £250 to the cost!

  • Just in case someone has any more ideas, only kids there will be 14, 9, 8, 5 and 3.

My eldest will be 17 and she's really good with children, and step son will be 19 and would be willing to hold party games etc with them!

I'm not sure how much more i can take of this wedding planning. If one more thing happens, im sodding off to Vegas to get married :rotfl::rotfl:

One of the bridesmaids has said that she "thinks it would be easier if she is not bridesmaid". What does that exactly mean, she doesnt want to be my bridesmaid? She was the one making if difficult as she wanted her dress made.

OH has so laid back it is not bothering him, where as i have been close to tears for the last couple of days.

So that just leaves my sister as bridesmaid. :(

    Sorry mini rant over.

On another note, we received the vows to chose from a Weds, eeek not long now. xx

hi i'm getting hitched on June 14th in Cyprus - so can i join your group? I live over here with the military at the mo, but am hopefully going to get some good MSE tips and will be ordering from UK websites.

I've got the dress, venue booked, vicar booked - just need to sort out the rest ! Colour is my main bug bear at the moment .
    Thanks
  • Congratulations Gabriella,

Looks like ur well on the way, the ladies on this thread are really lovely and great support, especially if you need a little rant!

Colour for me was quite simple as my dress isn't white( I've been saying it's a latte/light coffee colour but my friend says it's oyster!) and burgundy pink goes so well with it!

But there are some gorgeous colours around this year, the teal and plum colours look fab!

Daughter's tiara arrived 2day and she looks so sweet in it!
