Wow, well done on the dress ashtray heart! I was also looking forward to seeing Kate's dress today - it's quite similar to the style I like, only I'm not having lace, I want lots of roses instead. However, the lace looked lovely on hers. Felt so happy for her!Getting married: 21/06/12!Current weight loss: 2st!!!0

Hi all
Can I join in? We have finally decided on a date! :j 30th June 2012Our theme is black and white with a hint of sliver. We don't have loads of money and were going to just do registry, meal with close family and honeymoon but then as time went on I wanted a little do and a lovely dress etc etc.
So anyway, we have decided to challenge ourselves to have a wedding that is fabby but as cheap as poss!
Although the date may have to change depending on availability of the venue. My OH popped in there for a leaflet yesterday so I am going to call the woman on Tuesday when the children are back at school. it is £205 for the hall hire (which includes a late bar) and the buffet we want is £10.25 per head, the cheapest is £7.75 per head.
Its basically a lovely little country type pub with a hall and courtyard which is perfect for what we want.
I ordered my dress of ebay the other day and it arrived this morning, I LOVE IT! The only thing is it is about 2 inches too long, so hopefully it can be taken up, that cost me £46 inc delivery so rather chuffed with that.
OH is going to be making the cake, he wants square and I want cupcakes aswell so we are doing both, he's a good cook, but I think I will be better doing the design on the cake!
So far I have a list of 59 adults in total (providing some of them bring +1) and 16 children unless people don't bring their children then it will be less. Only our parents, grandparents and siblings are coming to the actual registry office. SO I am unsure of what to do after lol
I mean do I invite EVERYONE to the reception do after, or just some of the guests then the rest for an evening disco?
Who would the buffet be for?
Also, do you send invitations to parents? OH thinks not as they will know but I think it would be a nice touch, something for them to keep?0 -

Yay DiamondsnPearls! Welcome to the wedding thread! How exciting that you've decided on a date! :j Loving the colour theme too... The OH and I are sending invitations to our parents... It helps with recording food choices too when they send the RSVP back❤Planned our wedding, still planning lessons❤

Welcome diamondsnpearls, I will add you to the front page!
We are also sending an invite to parents, which will be weird as we are having the traditional wording of MR and MRs ... would like the company of ... at their daughter ...'s marriage to ..!!First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140 -

Hehe becca... I like it though, it's quite quirky them inviting themselves to the wedding which they're hosting
We're sending the invites from ourselves, rather than our parents as we're paying for the majority of it❤Planned our wedding, still planning lessons❤

That it is! They are chipping in for most things (paid deposits for nearly everything) and brought my dress - I think they really want to do it traditionally and pay for the entire reception but my OH is very strong headed and independent!
How are you getting on with planning?First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140 -
We're getting there, we've paid the deposit for the...
- venue (plus food)
- registrar
- photographer
- cake maker
- car
- dress
- flowers
A friend on mine is making the day invitations and a friend of the OH has said she'll make some extra cakes and her mum'll make some elderflower champagne (but don't know whether we're allowed it at the venue.)
The OH is currently making a brochure/leaflet thing for the invitations with information about the place, food, ceremony etc (the Royal Wedding seemed to kick him into gear) and we've sorted the guest list. We've also decided on rings, but need to type up the info to send to the jewellers to price them up.
Still loads to do though! The list seems to grow!
How about you? What have you done so far?❤Planned our wedding, still planning lessons❤

I'm totally amazed at how much stuff there is to do! So far we have booked and paid deposit for church, venue, photographer, cake lady, flowers, dress
Still need to book wedding cars, suit hire, choose bridesmaid dresses (off next weekend to have our 3rd look!), invitations and other stationary, rings (OH has his sorted but I'm really struggling, I'm not a jewellery person).
I think a leaflet type thing with general information on the day is lovely, we are going to do the same.
What kind of ring are you going to have?First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140
