Yay PicklePickle! Congrats and welcome to the thread!
Just keep remembering it's yours and your OH's wedding so have what you want
jethro08, I've found some bridesmaids dresses which I like, three of my four bridesmaids like it, but my sister is the one who's being fussy! Grrr!❤Planned our wedding, still planning lessons❤

spoonymoose - if you're paying for the bridesmaid's dresses then it should be your call - part of their duties are to wear what the bride wants!
picklepickle - My dad is exactly the same, I think he's just excited but his entire extended family is huge!!No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Spoony mine are the same. Really hope we get somethingFirst baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140

Voted for you littlemiss - good luck!
Becca & Spoony, mine are exactly the same! I feel for you! I have actually told mine they can all wear different dresses (same colour) if they want, but they all want to match! No pleasing some.
What are everyone's colour schemes/themes?0 -
Hi Flackety I want a lemon yellow colour with maybe a hint of orange, although three out of four of my bridesmaids are red heads!!
I am hoping with a bit of a tan before the big day.Engaged 31/12/2010 Getting married on 22/06/20120 -
My colour scheme is teal and cream. Teal is a rubbish colour don't pick it as it is practically impossible to colour match!
We are honeymooning in Scilly Isles. All booked0 -
It must be a June 2012 bridesmaid thing, I'm sure one of mine thinks its her day!
Our colour scheme is an aubgerine type purple and cream.
Teal sounds lovely but can see why you are finding it hard! Will keep my eye out when I go shopping tomorrow!First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140 -
Thank you for the warm welcome : ) it's great to have people to talk wedding stuff too that are going through the same experience.
We haven't picked a colour theme as such yet, thinking pastel colours, maybe peach or a pinky colour. My mum might make the dresses if we can find some nice materials. One of my bridesmaids in trying for a baby so need to make sure whatever dresses we go for can accomodate a bump if neccessary : ) Hopefully the girls wont be too fussy!
Has anyone got any recommendations for wedding insurance? I want to make sure we're covered but not sure if any companies are better than others? x0 -
I was just wondering whether I need to send out save the dates, we have alot of people coming from Oz, NZ & Scotland who already know the date. All our family know the date it's just his friends, some of which are very unreliable.
I really dont know what to doEngaged 31/12/2010 Getting married on 22/06/20120 -
hey ladies
Can I join you? We're getting married on Friday 8th June, the day after our 11 year anniversary. We've been engaged since February 2008 but had 2 babies since so we're sorted for a page boy and flower girl ;-)
I am really organised on paper and know what I like and don't like but so far we've only booked the venue (local golf club with lovely views), bought bridesmaid dresses for my 2 sisters and booked my make up artist. I've looked into photographers but not booked one yet.
I picked my colour scheme and theme a couple of months ago and now I realise how popular it is amongst June 2012 brides - silver butterflies! I'm making the invites and favour boxes myself (bought all the craft supplies as I like things my own way!) I know which designers dresses I like (Jim Hjelm Occasions) but not trying any on until I lose some more baby weight. They're intended for bridesmaids but since I'm short I don't think I'll suit a big meringue. I'm keeping an open mind about style but I have seen a dress I like in ivory satin and lace.
I would like my flower girls to wear an ivory dress with butterflies on it but its a bit of a problem because my OH's niece is a very tall almost 10 year old and she'll need a 14 year old's dress and my daughter will only be 17 months old and will probably need an age 2 dress (very tall girl!) I might just get them similar dresses if I'm struggling to match or maybe customise plain dresses?! I want my son who will be nearly 3 to wear a grey waistcoat and trousers (no jacket for June!) to match his daddy's grey suit.
I'm planning on sending out save the dates in June and invites in December. I'm also going to make the table plan, menu cards etc myself.
Summer 2012 holidays have now gone on sale so I've been honeymoon planning since last night! We are thinking of going to Dominican Republic as we love it there, I just need to find out the cost of flight upgrades from Thomas Cook as we're weighing up First Choice vs Thomas Cook! We've set up a honeymoon fund for donations towards the cost of our honeymoon as we've been living together for 7 years this year and have everthing we need.
I'm planning on buying 3 tiers from M&S for our cake. I had thought about making one myself but with 2 kids to look after and the usual pre-wedding stress I think it would be too much.
A former work colleague's partner is a florist so hoping he can offer us a good deal on flowers, or maybe arrange them myself.
Aren't weddings fab?!0
