Hi all, Just want to join in on this thread. I'm getting married the 9th June 2012 as its my birthday- My mom informs me that it has never rained on my birthday and from what i remember its always been blissfully sunny! Also this is our anniversary date.
Were having a registry office wedding in an old manor type house in Dudley, transport will be provided by my dads big white people carrier taxi! Then we're off back home to my partners parents back garden for bbq food and curry on the night for around 60 people. His parents have been in the catering industry and so are pretty good with feeding large groups of people.

Welcome as well nicola77! My birthday is also the 9th June! :j (And I do remember it raining once on my birthday about 15 years ago, tho that was when I lived in Lancashire between a few big hills. It's never rained in Brum on my birthday, and the Black Country isn't that far away so you'll be safe

I'm getting married next year and am going down the Vintage/DIY route. We have about £9k in total, which sounds like a lot but it's not really! I'm going to do the majority of favours myself and I'm starting to stock up on china teacups from charity shops and markets for tealight holders. I'm going to use local flowers that are in season at the time to decorate the tables, together with tealights.

I'm getting my dress from a local bridal shop- a LOT cheaper than some of the "chain" bridal shops and I'm going to get the bridesmaids to choose their own wedding dresses (in a particular colour) and pay for them. It will still be cheaper doing that than getting bridesmaids dresses made and fitted for them. My dress is ivory and I'm thinking maybe red or block different coloured for the bridesmaids dresses.

I've started posting some tips and links for people to use and comment on their own ideas. Hopefully it might be of help to some people!

Yay, welcome June 2012 B2B! Becca, you're totally right - the best month to get married!!! Sorry things didn't go too well with your bridesmaids shopping. Don't worry about not finding anything yet, still plenty of time. For me, I have logistical problems - I have 4 and they all live in different parts of the country..... I feel a headache coming on already!!

How is everybody getting on? I'm thinking about starting some of my DIY projects I have in mind, I have so many things I want to do and can see time starting to slip away. My first thing in mind is to make some lips and moustaches (to go on sticks) for our photobooth out of fimo clay. I say me, my OH is the more creative one of us and I don't think he trusts me to do a good job!! Will post some pics when done (if they don't end up a disaster!!)

P.S Lili Rose, added you to my like list on fb. Am also having a vintage inspired wedding.... see you have some of the pics the DIY shoot Lou did at Whimsical Wonderland Weddings (thought it was fab!!) I currently have a load of cans I need to paint (though I did make the error of using waterbased gloss and they went rusty, doh!!) I also bought some teacups the other day at a charity shop, thought I could use these to make some candles or to use for flowers.... can't make up my mind yet but OH isn't sold on the teacup/candle thing.
