I had bracelets made for my bridesmaids to wear on the day with their initial and butterfly as charms. I got my chief bridesmaid a Me To You bridesmaid ornament too (sort of a side theme of the wedding).
We've had a bit of a wobble with our ceremony music - found the perfect song, means a lot to us (may even make me cry!) but we've checked the lyrics and there's a religious referenceSo now I have to try and source an instrumental version. Sigh.

Well girls I am back from an AMAZING hen experience
I loved every minute of it and all the little surprises along the way.
It started a week ago when my lovely bridesmaids made their way down to Brum, then on Monday I had my hair and make up trial - I love my hair; it's gorgeous and I was worried that it wouldn't be long enough (I shall upload a photo when I get the photos back on my bridesmaid.) The hairdresser was fab and make us all feel at ease (we even joked about Scouse eyebrows as they were from Liverpool) and my make up artist is equally as lovely.
On Tuesday we travelled up to my parents and had tea and a play behind my parents' b&b bar (we got some fab photos and there were some even weirder drinks!)
Wednesday we went shopping, for coffee and cake, then out for a meal with my bridesmaids and mum and gran (my sister didn't bother to come, but I shall probably rant about her on the bridezilla forum!) The meal was great; we even got free desserts. I was wearing my bride to be sash and my head boppers (as were the others.) Also we had the BEST looking taxi driver ever!
Thursday we travelled back to Brum and were met by my other bridesmaid (who couldn't make the trip to Blackpool.) My clue was PD - this meant pampering day and she'd bought various things from Lush and gave us facials and such - it was amazing
On Friday I was supposed to go and try on my dress, but it hadn't arrived in the shops but we went shopping for my wedding underwear (got a gorgeous set from Debenhams which was reduced too!) We had coffee and cake before getting ready for a night of CM-ing... Which turned out to be cocktail making! Amazing night again! (The barman was gorgeous too and Italian! Haha!)
Saturday was my last surprise; PLGS - Pink Ladies Grease Style! We learned a dance to the Grease medley; I have never laughed so much! My mother in law was so funny. I soon got into the dance moves and loved wearing the Pink jacket. That was followed my drinks and chattering then a few random dares from dare cards before coming back to the house with one of my bridesmaids for a hot choccie and marshmallows.
An epic week and I'm gutted about having to go back to work tomorrow!
Hope everyone else is well
Oh and I'm having the same problem with guests saying they'll come then not and some I haven't heard from!❤Planned our wedding, still planning lessons❤

Sounds amazing Spoony.
I know people say weddings bring out the best and worst in people but for me, it's turned into not just leaving behind single life but also leaving behind some not-so-good friends and moving on. Equally, my bridesmaids are fantastic and I'm so lucky to have them!No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
Sorry to hear about guest problems. I've decided that if anyone who hasn't RSVP-d yet mentions the wedding I will say that as they hadn't replied we thought they weren't coming and haven't got any more room now.
Had some bad news about my health last week so just trying to deal with that. Got to have further tests and see where we go from there.First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140 -

getting quite stressed today, hence the reason im looking on here...0 -
Hope all is ok Becs *hugs*
Welcome Helen!
Spoony, you lucky thing that sounds like an amazing week
And Gem, I think that's a very good way to look at it. It helps us to realise who the most important people are and who isn't really bothered. And then we know where to focus our efforts in future (and where not to!)0 -
oh im really going no where fast today!!
maybe someone can help me please..?
ive got ivory chair covers and table clothes and gold satin saches
ive got lilac and ivory ballons decorations, flowers are ivory and bits of lilac , mens waistcoats are lilac. i just can not decided what to put on the tables and what colour?
ive got fish bowls to fill aswell for tables
ive been looking at rose petals and those scatter crystals which one and colour would be good?
should i get some gold ballons aswell to add into the lilac ones??
i got the gold saches really cheap but they are beautiful and not cheap and nasty looking so would like to keep them. now i need to add some more of gold colour to blend in?

Glad you had a good time Spoony.
Becca, fingers crossed for the tests.
Hi to Helen and congrats! I thought I had a nightmare with colours - I'd already decided I was having a dark red / burgundy sash and then OH decided he wanted to wear tartan which is dark green, white, dark blue and yellow. So, the men are wearing dark red ruches to tie in and I've tried to keep everything else fairly neutral. Cake is mostly white / ivory with a bit of tartan tie in, and the table decorations are just white / ivory with candelabras (the venue has some but the OH wants different ones). If anyone has found any cheaper than the following can they please let me know as we need a few of them and he wants 60/80cm ones:

I'd suggest getting some smaller balloons in gold if possible, and maybe have just a couple of bits of gold in the fish bowls. I'm thinking lilac and off white crocuses as they've got the stunning gold/yellow stamens.
Also found this last night and thought it's got some good ideas on there: http://offbeatbride.com/2012/01/wedding-emergency-kitGetting married: 21/06/12!Current weight loss: 2st!!!0 -
Hi everyone,
Sorry for all the stresses & even non-wedding related problems some of you have been having! Hugs to you all.
Mega update from me as I haven't posted for a while, if you remember the venue well & truly stressed me out a couple of weeks ago...& since then it's just been a case of trying to plod on & hope it'll all be ok. I am pleased to say though that everything is pretty much back on track now! :j
The venue have sorted our their storage problems & have agreed to supply suitable tables & chairs, have dropped some of the bizarre/duplicate charges they were then trying to add on (I didn't post about this as I was just too stressed!!) & we have agreed that the only additional charge is for the games that we had thought were included as there was never any mention of a charge before. £100 extra isn't perfect but compared to the £700+ we were facing I will settle for it for an easy life!
Invitations have gone out (mostly, there are now a few additions!) & I'm finding out who my real friends are too! There is a friend & his partner that I was intending to invite who still hasn't given me his address despite me asking FIVE times now...via FB & in person so I give up. It was just an evening one anyway but if he can't be bothered then why should I?
Likewise a friend who I fairly recently fell out with but am supposedly friends with again isn't bothering to respond to my attempts to truly sort things out...Short version is he took offence to something I did, & then offence to something OH did & despite patching things up with me very loosely, he seems to have no interest in discussing things with OH & as such did not respond to me regarding the address to send his invitation too. I am a little sad as he was once quite a good friend but he's not making any effort despite me trying so why should I? Such a silly misunderstanding to fall out over in the first place but he's not even listening *sigh*
Numbers are looking good for us so far although I am worried we will have too many in the evening now! We may have to "bump" a few people from evening to day as well as someone we thought would come now isn't but will see how it goes...
I am meeting with the registrar tomorrow to confirm our own vows are ok, readings & music etc, but I'm panicking a little as we still haven't picked a song for me to walk into! I think I am stuck with Wagner's Bridal Chorus but I can't find a version of it that I like that isn't too short. What are you all walking in to?:idea:Debt at July 2012: £12,862.57
