2 months and 1 week here.
OH's brother turned down the invite to the wedding, his only living relative left and he said no, but via email a few weeks earlier he was yes we are looking forward to it, very two faced, if he doesn't want to do something he will talk himself into not doing something and no reasoning will move him, so after his letter saying no, there will be no communications from me. OH can if he wants to but the brother has cut his ties with me now.
We've had people do similar things. And some who have put the word about (to others) that they aren't coming, and not even bothered to tell us themselves via RSVP. Some of these are also family, so I sort of know how you feel. Ish
Are you ok?0 -

The family mutterings of who can/can't attend is driving us mad too! So my chief wedding planner (my dad, haha) is phoning everyone to confirm and he will get a straight answer out of people as he's very diplomatic.
Our day list is still around the 50 we expected but the evening has gone from 120 to nearly 200 :eek:No longer using this account for new posts from 20130 -
We've gone the other way - had a lot of people say they can't come. When, and if they eventually bothered to RSVP that is.
It got to the point we were worried for a bit last week we wouldn't meet the minimum numbers for the venue. We're now at 42 for the day and 5 extra in the evening. We were expecting 60 for the day and another 20 in the evening. Makes me a bit sad, but I suppose it saves us money0 -
Hi guys :hello:
Not been on for a while....sorry to hear of all the non attendees. Such a shame that some of them haven't told you themselvesI don't know if one of my brothers will be there but he might be having surgery then and has been waiting for ages on the date.
We've just paid a chunk of money to the caterers  Still have some to pay but they don't need the rest until 2 weeks before with the final number of guests....phew!
Well, there is no way I am going to be able to fit into my dress in time:(:( I am gutted...........
After a bit of a cry and wishing I could go back in time and kick myself up the 'you know what', I have decided I am going to get another dress. It is not worth the stress. I am not eating properly, not sleeping and just generally stressed out....not like me at all.
The dress I had got was a bargain (maybe for the wrong reasons), but cost less than £40 brand new and I'll be able to sell it on no problem as it is a lovely dress. It fits me better than it did a few weeks ago but it still won't be good enough and I don't want to wait until the last minute. So going wedding dress shopping with my mum next week
So glad it's the weekend.....look out half bottle of wine in the fridgeSPC 9 # 5360 -
Well... 10 days tomorrow.
Can you all please remind me to NEVER watch Don't Tell The Bride!!! Haha!
Things are plodding along here. It's not a formal type wedding, so we're trying not to worry too much.
However, I do need to:
1) find somewhere to get my dress shortened
2) Sort flowers (we've not even started looking yet!)
3) Look for someone to do hair and makeup.
I am starting to worry a bit, but it should be ok! I hope!!Married 23rd June 2012Trying to pay off some capital on our mortgage & save some pennies for our futureSealed pot challenges started 08/10/13!Sealed Pot #1434Virtual Sealed Pot #1100 -

Taking my dress to somewhere to discuss shortening on Monday

my bridemaids have take on so much it's unbelievable, one who is altering my dress has bought the bouquet and button holes the other is decorating the garden and organising the hen weekend.
i need to find a special gift each for them and i need your help, what could i get them, i found at Easter 2 small plastic basket bags, (pink to match dresses) like what we had in the 80's, but i want to put something in there to show them both how special they are to me.
both girls i went to school with and have been there in and out since then, type of friends who couldn't give a hoot if you have MS, will still include you in events with other friends and look after you.0 -

What kind of budget have you got for the presents?
Had my first dress fitting yesterday - so exciting after planning what it's going to look like all this time! Was a bit big but then I've lost another stone since I was measured up for it.
So sorry yours won't fit Anibell. It's upsetting when you've got your heart set on something but you'll feel better on the day if it fits right, and if it's making you ill then choosing something else makes more sense and it's better than you being poorly and stressed for your big day!
Had some more people reply to say that they aren't attending - think they're boycotting because some of the people they wanted us to invite haven't been. They're on the OH's side and I was quite glad that he reacted the same way I felt - thought I ought to just keep out of it. However, I mentioned it to both sets of parents yesterday and they suggested inviting cousins etc. I was proud of myself for speaking up to his dad and saying that actually we hadn't invited any of our friends to the ceremony and I'd much rather have them there than cousins we never see. I think he then felt a bit guilty for inviting family that we never see and friends of theirs, but none of our friends. So we've finally won that battle and we can invite some friends along to the ceremony!!! :T
Think we've finally decided on the ceremony music now - OH was driving me mad with indecision but didn't want to sit down and listen to anything to decide!Getting married: 21/06/12!Current weight loss: 2st!!!0
