Good Morning everyone ,well its a very wet one here in north Kent, and don't my old bones know it.I am like a creaky old gate this morning .DGD phoned last night and begged me to take her into college this morning as she has lots of folders and junk to go in and its a bit awkward on the bus ,and being the daft old softie I am I said O.K.,although I could really do without it today. Still if it helps her a bit I suppose I'll get my reward in heaven.
Not a lot on the agenda to do today a quick hoover round and I might sort some of the kitchen cupboards out ,see how I feel.Right I'm off for a hot shower to get my old bones warmed up
have a good day whatever you are doing
Cheers JackieO xx0 -
morning!
been a busy week here. Got 2 days off now but today is going to be very busy too. Am planning a chill day tomorrow though before I work all weekend.
Planning my menu this morning before I go shopping - getting back to the SW way of eating, fancy a stir fry tonight.
Its like a chinese laundry here - washing hanging on the airer, a cupboard full to put away and a pile to iron.
At least the house is tidy - cant say the same for the boys rooms though but thats their business - as long as the doors stay shut I can ignore it.:D
(((hugs))) to those with poorly tummies - BB's little one and Redruby's doggy:D plus all those getting over the lurgy.
Snow forcast here tonight:eek: hope it doesn't hang around - Halight your forcast was correct:T:D
have a great day all xDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning all another grey day again.
Paid for my holiday yesterday, i was counting the days up on the 1st hows sads that? Didn't need paying until middle of next month but i'm glad it's out of the way- skint now but everyones skint in January.
Going to get on top of the housework today, it's a tip tbh and only have to feed 4 adults for dinner tonight- pork chow mein to use up some egg noodles i found when tidying the cupboards. DD2 will be at friends and DS2 respite so i shall enjoy the peace.
Bargain Bird - my chicken kebabs, they were delicious so enjoy
Anyway best get cracking x0 -
Morning All,
I finally have some time to post as I am at home full time now. A decision we have struggled with for the last year but finally gone and done it. The plan is to work from home so am getting started on that.
Old Style is vital for us now and need to be working hard every day to save money. Firstly this morning I have turned all the lights and devices off upstairs as it was like Blackpool illuminations after DH and DS2 and DS3 have gone off to school, work!
It's going to be a challenge on one wage initially but to be honest I'm quite excited. These are the rules put in place for a start:- No more bought lunches, everyone takes home made
- No takeaways and everything cooked from scratch (I do this anyway but going to have much more time)
- A close look at the food budget and do an inventory of everything we already have in the cupboards and freezer
- Drying on the maiden and only using the dryer in emergencies
- Shopping around for the best deals(just didn't have time before NB F Foods are doing 3 packs of bacon for a £5 (16 slices per pack and we eat loads)
- Try and keep car journeys to just 2 days a week for shopping and posting
Anyway sorry it's war and peace this morning but wanted to get things down on paper (I am a bit of a listaholic)
Have a good day everyone xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Very wet and miserable here too, JackieO - I like your description of the creaky gate :rotfl:
Have already done my office to do list :j just as well because have another long day at my second job. OH cleaned the house yesterday and is doing a bit of decluttering today.
He still has the bad cough and DD is at home too as she has a high temperature and feels dizzy
so she will be in bed all day. Really hope I avoid this lurgy!
Leftover chilli made into quesadilla's for dinner tonight. Been very good with the menu plan this week and made good use of the leftovers. Good thing about being so busy earning money is that I also don't get time to spend it too :T good that as the cashflow is looking dire
Anyway better get going, hope you all have great days.x0 -
Julie67 - how exciting to be stopping at home and having much more time to live in the OS way:T I'm sure you will find that the whole family will benefit from this decision:) I like your signature by the way:)Do what you love :happyhear0

Good Morning All. rained heavily in night, but dry now. Field was very claggy on the doggie walk - I came home with really wide feet with all the extra mud clinging to the boots! DH gone off his day at work so I must catch up a bit on the housework, which I find much harder to get on with when he's at home! We had a change of meal last night - really fancied some fishcakes from Waitr%%% - and as neither of us have much appetitite just now it was a case of "go with the flow!" Anyhow, back on track this evening with spag bol. Lunch will be HM soup from the freezer yet again. No problem tho' as I really love soup!
Kitchen fitter turned up yesterday afternoon ( I didn't really expect to see him for days!). Turns out the sink itself is faulty - the half sink has a very slight crack where it sits in its slot and water has been seeping away through there. The whole sink will be replaced, plus the shelf in the cupboard underneath as it's warped. The outside pipework will also all be replaced - so that's a result!
Need to crack on with bedrooms for DS and DGD who are up tomorrow evening for the w/e. Really looking forward to that - just hope DH is feeling much better by then too. We both are on antibiotics now ( my second dose!) and I have the dreaded steroids for five days.
My sympathy to all of you struggling with the lurgy and coping with a family - I am so thankful not to have that added responsibility these days!
Anyhow, enough wittering, must get on. Have a good day - and take care of yourselves.Resolution:

Morning All
Redruby - My pup was poorly in the night too! (also found the bin ripped open, so think i know why!!) He's still in bed with OH feeling sorry for himself.
BB - There are SO many pups! We can't agree on a type though, Our lab is a working lab and very 'busy' so i'd like a more chilled out breed so want to stay away from Collies, terries etc. OH thinks the next dog should be smaller so he wants a spaniel type. Ideally i would LOVE a deerhound/irish wolfhound or great dane, but really they are far too big for our house!! So when we've got our finances sorted we are going to go look down the adoption route instead of going to a breeder. But i have a feeling that our lifestyle won't be right for a rescue dog as there are lots of children/livestock etc to think about!
The weather is miserable today!! Pouring it down. Working later i think, my 2nd to last day!!!
Not sure what i am doing before work, can't remember if i agreed to meet my dad for coffee today or tomorrow!
OH was supposed to work, but it's been called off, so super skint month for us till i get paid from my new job (even though that will probably just cover rent and bills!! ARGHHHH)
Running total of £30 on musicmagpie right now, going to do CDS today and trying and get them sent before the weekend.
Have a lovely day all, hugs to those who need them!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Ever tried corn flour? It's supposed to work.........Really enjoyed watching the start of new season of NCIS last night, and not only because of Mark Harmon!
Oh watch channel was this on? After we cancelled Sky we lost FX and the ones shown on Five are years behind
Morning everyone.
Quick one from me. It was Louis Brailles birthday yesterday so we are going to have a go at making braille alphabet with lentils and a sheet I printed out. Should be good fun
Cold here but at least the wind has dropped. DS was a PITA getting into his uniform again this morning. Luckily H hung around and helped bribe him with sweets
Will try and fit in some cleaning again this afternoon and I made a start on my 6 month backlog on my accounts yesterday too :T
Tea tonight will be something involving sausages.
Can you believe it Mia the cat won't eat the poultry and meat version of Felix pouches but will eat our chicken etc. Gave her some cooked salmon last night and she turned her nose up at it and yet will only eat the fish selection of Felix pouches! I forgot just how bloomin' finicky cats are
Hugs, spoons and high fives all round. Have a good day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife
