I personally wouldn't eat it - I'm a bit more cautious with refridgerated foods compared to dry or freezer foods.
I'd eat it a few days out - maybe even 4-5 days but not 10 mths. Someone gave me 4 covent garden soups which they said were a bit out of date - they were a month out of date and weren't cold when she gave them to me.
In the bin I'm afraid0 -
Thank you all. Kippers say 'part boned' so thought it would be ok for fish pie, I normally cook the fish then shred.
Thanks for the advice that they are safe to eat.:beer:0 -
Yup, as long as they smell fine I'd cook them up, but if they taste funny...bin bin bin!** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

I do it all because I'm scared.

I had a pack of Feta cheese in the fridge for a while, still vac packed. I left it as an experiment after it went OOD while we were on holiday and it lived in the drawer of my fridge for over a year.
I opened it 13 months after expiry to see what it was like and... well nothing odd really. It smelt the same as normal, there was no mould, no indicators that it was old.
Now I did taste it a bit, and it tasted fine, but I was too chicken to eat it. However to continue the experiment I left it in the fridge, now out of the vac pack and after a few days it looked not so good.
The moral to this is that vac packed stuff probably has a much longer shelf life than it's given credit for, and I would have eaten the feta 3 or 4 weeks OOD had I known how it would be a year later, but as always though folks, use discretion when trying OOD food.
To the OP I'd say do the look, smell, taste tests and see, but in all probability I'd likely just chuck it, I guess it's only £1 in value, but you might miss a few days of work if it doesn't agree with you.
It's only a game

They wont have gone off , you need to defrost and see what they look like , frozen fish is prone to freezer burn , and you might find they have deteriorated and not be pleasant to eatVuja De - the feeling you'll be here later0

decided to bin it last night, I could not bear the thought of food poisoning, and I am usually pretty relaxed about best before dates, but 10 months probably is a step beyond dodgyLet's get ready to bumble! :rotfl:0
