this morning ive made some soup with some of the chicken stock and meat left from last nights tea, i added some sweetcorn, herbs and tabasco, and then decided that i'd make it a bit creamy but healthy with some natural yoghurt, but it went a little curdled, ive blended it all with the hand blender and it now looks ok, is it safe to eat?twins on board0

How dangerous is curdled yoghurt?0
-
It should be fine.
In order to avoid curdling in future, blend a little cornflower into the yoghurt before stirring it in, and don't let the mixture boil.0 -
thanks, i tasted it and it seems fine but my tastebuds have been dulled by a childhood spent eating my mums friery chilli, i'm going give it to my 3 year old so wanted to be sure i wasnt going to poison himtwins on board0

Should be fine. Curdled isn't the same as "off", although it can look the same.0
-
of course you can eat it - nothing "poisonous" in a bit of curdled yogurt - esp blended up!0

Understand your concern - anything curdled looks dodgy! However, in the case of yoghurt it is sort of soured already, so the heat hasn't changed the ingredient, just made it difficult to amalgamate! Adding cornflour (or potato flour) helps to stabalise it and make sure that it doesn't separate.thanks, i tasted it and it seems fine but my tastebuds have been dulled by a childhood spent eating my mums friery chilli, i'm going give it to my 3 year old so wanted to be sure i wasnt going to poison him0 -
