Hi triggles,
I deliberately leave a chicken out in the kitchen for a couple of hours to bring it up to room temperature before roasting so I would think yours will be fine.
As yours is cooking now, I'll add it to the quick questions on food safety thread as your question may help others.

Hi All,
Just after a bit of advice....
Bought a packet of cold (ie from fridge section not frozen!) cooked peeled prawns from the supermarket on Saturday night.
Got up early on Sunday and realised that I had forgotten to put them in the fridge.:o
Now, they were supposed to be put into a stir fry for tonight's dinner...should I risk it???
They've been in the fridge ever since and the date is 11 July.
I don't want to chuck £2 of prawns away (and they'd be thoroughly cooked), but don't want a gippy tummy either:(
Many thanks in advance for your thoughts...0 -

Personally I would open them up and use the sniff test. Its very easy to smell off fish so if they smell of the sea and salty they will be fine I am sure0 -
I don't eat prawns, so can't advise from experience. But i wouldn't risk it myself if cooking for others
Not worth the gippy tummy for me anyway, my bug thing i had there was quite enough!
I've added this to the food safety thread, and gave it a bump to see if you get any more responses
thanks
ZipA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

yes I know, poor fridge management lol
Anyway it is unopened until now, smells fine, does not look rank, not tried tasting it yet - my question is whats the worst that could happen if it was bad? Can it harbour some very bad nasties?Let's get ready to bumble! :rotfl:0 -
Chuck it now. Cheese, cream, chicken, pork, fish. Big no no.
Felines are my favourite

What's the matter, Smeeinnit? You wanna live for ever?
Seriously, usually anything involved in curdling milk tends to be the enemy of bacteria that cause food poisoning. Also, you get mature cheeses, and that's what they are: mature - sometimes years old.
The usual rule. Try a tiny portion; and, if you are still alive, haven't been heaving your guts up, or are not nailed to the lavatory seat; then you can try eating the rest of it.0 -
Good God - Even I wouldn't eat it!Man plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0
