Yeah, I'd definitely eat it. I'm all for the 'what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger' philosophy!0

Yes. (but I always sniff food first anyway, whether it is 'in date' or not):A0

thankyou, im wary at the moment due to having a low immune system from hospital treatments0
-
If it's been chilled ever since you bought it I'd say it would be OK for at least another week0

Was it a best before date or a use by date? If it's the latter, I wouldn't use it personally, but if its best before I would.Everyone I know wants to be a millionaire.
Not me, I want to be a billionaire.0 -
it is a use by date0

Hi Hmc:hello:
I would go ahead and eat it providing i was 100% sure , and of course I would make sure it was piping hot
I'll add your question to the existing thread on food safety/use by dates
thanks:)

We had a powercut and it was out for almost 48 hours. The stuff in the freezer seems ok, its still frozen hard, but I have a tub of pate in the fridge that my OH was really looking forward to. How long does pate keep and would the fridge being off spoil it ?0
-
if the stuff inthe fridge was still fairly cold then it should be ok - but if it came up to room temperature then i would chuck it! on second thoughts - chuck it anyway - food poisoning can be a killer and its better to spend a couple of quid on replacing the pate!!0

Hi Maradatha:hello:
Now you will have decided what to do with your pate, I have added your thread to the existing one on food safety, so we keep all the information together
I would probably not have risked it myself. I know I mention it at every opportunity, but I had to bin my whole freezer contents very recently, so I really can empathise. Some times it's just not worth the risk
