Cook(or microwave) on a really low light till you're absolutely sure it's thoroughly defrosted. Then turn the heat up and cook as per the instructions, checking that the inside has reached a high enough temperature with a meat thermometer if you have one.
That's what I'd do anyway - I've defrosted chicken in the microwave before putting it in the oven many times and lived to tell the tale - I can't see that this is any different.

(Edit - I'm generally quite cautious with meat, I'm not one for chancing it as a rule.)

I've cooked chicken breasts from frozen and lived to tell the tale ;)

All I do is cook it for longer and cut in half to check it's not still pink.

thanks for your replies, I appreciate it.

The instructions say Defrost fully before cooking. I think because it's now partially cooked I'm worried. They're now sitting on the side, tormenting me for my stupidity. The look fabulous

Sitting on the side cooling for ages while you think about it the worst thing you can do - get them back in the oven and cooked, they'll be fine.
    Enjoy!

I think all you've really done is helped it to defrost a bit. Wait until it's finished, then cook it! :)
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

for gawds sake get them back in the oven and cook them thoroughly! Piping hot as they say! lots of chicken products are cooked from frozen...........I have done it myself (and only when throwing the packaging out will notice it says to defrost first!) and me and OH havent even had a tummy twinge. make sure that its hot all the way through to the bone and you should be fine!

meat used to be 'hung' for a lot longer than it sits in supermarket shelves! take it out of the packaging, pat it dry and look at it..........is it still fresh looking? a little bit of browning round the edge is ok.......brown all over and slimy feeling means its gone off. does it smell ok?..........if it still smells like meat and not something from a sewer, then its fine! but if still in doubt cook it well done not rare!

    Right, am going for it!!

    If I die, you're all absolved :p

We've now had a motley crue of other stuff for dinner (am amazed at what a frugal buyer keeps in her freezer) so we're all satiated. I will, however, put them into the oven now, cook the bejeezus out of them and it'll be fabulous chicken for tea tomorrow (cold of course)

Completely agree, whack it back in oven or else defrost in microwave first then oven cook. Ignore any timings on packet, just make sure it's not pink inside, then cook a bit longer - you can tell when chicken is cooked - and enjoy it. Otherwise tell me where you live and I'll pop round and pick it up. You're making me hungry.

Like everyone else, I've cooked chicken from frozen plenty of times. Chicken pieces are fine, the risk is more with whole chickens as it isn't so easy to completely cook them through as they are larger.

We can get so paranoid about this, don't let it spoil your enjoyment, they sound fab.

I'm not one to be cautious about these things. As others have said, you'd smell if it was off - I would just use my common sense.

I think shops' BB and use by dates are a little on the over-cautious side anyway.
