Well, I'd give it a sniff just to double check it was okay but really, three extra weeks for a product that has six (?) month shelf life isn't going to be a problem, I don't think. I'd use it anyway!

I`d chill it first before using which seems to improve the taste.

Use it for yoghurt? Warm it up to blood temperature (feels neither hot nor cold on the back of your hand. Stick it in a flask that has had boiled water in first. Put a good dessertspoon or two of room temperature plain bio yogurt in with it. The next day you'll have lovely bio plain yogurt.

    Hi Mander,

If it looks, smells and tastes ok then I'd probably use it but as we can't see it, it really is down to your own personal judgement. I'll add this to the Quick Questions on food safety / sell by / use by dates later as your question may help others.

UHT milk can keep for yonks. I'd still use it a year after its best before date. In fact I have and it was fine

I took some chicken out my freezer on Friday night...one thing after another has meant that again we won't be cooking it tonight.

    So...

Will it be okay to cook tomorrow night?

    Or

would you cook it tonight and heat through tomorrow??

  • I'd cook it too - chicken is one of those things you don't want to take any chances with!!

  • Agreed with the others, I'd throw it in to cook tonight and heat it through tomorrow. Just in case :)
